TAG HEUER 40MM BLACK PVD DUBIOS-DEPRAZ MODEL 2000 CHRONOGRAPH
Even though eBay is getting farther and farther away from it's roots as a auction site and is trying it's best to turn into Amazon all my items still start at .99, with no reserve and no buy-it-now.
Hi there and welcome to my auction!
Today we have a VERY RARE full size Tag Heuer 2000 40mm ( without crown ) with the Dubois-Depraz quartz chronograph module. This is an early transtion model, with the non-Tag, Heuer branded back and non-Tag, Heuer branded crown. Also rare is the black PVD body and gold plated bezel combination.
Both the quartz and automatic version of these chronographs use the Dubois Depraz 2000 chronograph module. The Automatic movement (LWO 283) mates the DD2000 module to the ETA 2892 base, while the quartz movement (Calibre 185) uses a ESA 555.XXX (also known as the ETA 955.XXX) tractor. The Dubois Depraz 2000 module was the result of a partnership between Lemania and Dubois Depraz that began in the late 1970s.
Because Heuer contributed to the funding of the project, the LW0 283 was initially exclusive to Heuer, but when Lemania sold its shares in Heuer in 1984 to TAG, the use of the movement became more widespread. Lemania sold the movement as the Lemania 283 to several high-end clients such as Audemars Piguet in their Royal Oak Offshore, Girard Perregaux (7000 Chronograph) and Baume et Mercier.
The calibre 185 quartz chronograph used in this watch for sale was effectively a forerunner of the Calibre S movement, combining a quartz base with a mechanical chronograph module.
This watch is not currently running. I tried a new battery to no effect so it could be a simple fix or it could be a complex one. Please take this into account when bidding.

An Important Note on World-Wide Shipping
VAT and Customs:
Since every country has own import policies, buyers from outside of USA are responsible for any taxes and custom duties their government might impose on this purchase.
I have lost several watches and in addition to losing the watch I have had to issue full refunds to buyers because of thieving foreign customs and postal workers.
Nothing is worse than this for an honest seller.
To put a stop to this I will only use USPS Express Mail or FedEx International unless an agreement is reached before the auction ends.
The prices quoted in the shipping details are based upon recent, actual shipping costs of watches I have sent.
Please do not ask for any other International shipping method or complain that the cost is too high. If you can't afford to pay shipping, you shouldn't be buying this watch. It's simple logic.
I will promptly refund any difference between the estimates and the actual costs.
My only goal is to make sure that your new watch arrives quickly and safely, but most of all, arrives!
Please send me any questions you might have and as always, good luck!
