Physical description of the original

The size is 21.7 cm height and 14.2 cm width.

The 40 numbered pages are printed on fairly regular glossy paper. 22 pages have colour pictures, the rest are in black-and-white.

The cover is made from grayish-beige cardboard and printed dark blue, red and yellow on outside only.

The catalog is center-bound with two staples.

My copy of the catalog has two additional papers inlaid: a handwritten note with a German address and a four page 1920 price list pritned on yellow paper.

Content

Most of the catalog is dedicated to accordions. Towards the end there are some pages with harmonicas and blow accordions as well.

The accordion section lists 56 models with 30 illustrations (mostly in colour). There are one-, two- and three-row diatonic (melodeons) and three-, four- and five-row chromatic button accordions but no piano accordions.
Most of the accordions are from Gera, Germany which was regarded as the center for quality accordion manufacture at that time. In addition there are some Swedish and a few Italian made models as well as some cheaper instruments that seem to be generic Markneukirchen/Klingenthal poducts.
Accordion brand names include Nordiska's own house brand "NM," "H.B., " "Societa L'Armonica Stradella" and "Thalia Accordeon."

The harmonica section lists seven models, all with black and white illustrations. Six of the models are identifiable as Hohner instruments and I'm pretty sure the seventh is a Hohner too. There are two models I have never come across in any other sources: a tremolo harmonica called "Two Step" (ctalog no. 255 1/2) and an concert octave harmonica called "Künstler's Ideal" (catalog no. 1929.

The blow accordion page lists three models, all with black and white illustrations. Two of them are Hohner "Hohnertte" models (a Hohnerette 2 and a Hohnerette 7 - another Hohner instrument that I haven't found anywhere else), the third is an unbranded generic blow accordion.

Brand names
Accordion brands include Nordiska's own "NM" house brand, H.B. brand Gera accordions and Stradella. The harmonicas and blow accordions are either Hohner or unbranded.

Ebook condition

I have chosen a double editing standard for this catalog. The cover and the inlays are presented as facsimiles with only minor editing while the pages have been extensively cleaned up.

Some of the pages in the catalog have pencilmarks. I was really in doubt whether I should edit them out or not and in the end I chose to do both. That is, the main files for the pages have had them removed but I have also included alternative scans with the pencil marks left in place and even enhanced for added clarity. When it comes to the price list and the (back) cover, however, I have chosen to just present them as they are in my copy. Editing these would have rbeen rather pointless and equired a tremendous amount of work.

Format

The CD presents the catalog in a choice of three different formats: high resolution (180 dpi) JPEG scans for maximum quality, HTML format allowing you to leaf through the scans as if it was a paper book and PDF format for quick reference with all pages in a single document. It is readable on any reasonably modern computer with a CD drive.

Shipping and handling

Please note that I live in Norway so shipping to your country may take a little while (usually between one and three weeks). If you are in a hurry and willing to pay actual shipping costs, I will try to find faster options than regular mail.

Downloadable files

Unfortunately I am not able to offer the ebook as a downlaod at the moment since this would violate eBays' trade policies.
