- When the machine is turned on, the barometer will directly display a pressure
- reading. Its pressure measuring unit is mb/hpa, its scale unit, 0.1 mb,
- and its measuring range, 300mb ~ 1100mb.
- The altimeter of the machine has two measuring modes, respectively used
- for measuring a relative or absolute altitude, with its measuring unit being
- 1m (3 feet) and measuring range, 0m ~ 6000m above sea level.
Left Key: It is a function selecting and setting key. Pressing it can change the
barometer to the altimeter (in meter),
and pressing it again can change over to the mode of altimeter (in feet). Keeping pressing it for a period
of time can make the altitude input mode of the barometer or altitude-adjusting mode of the altimeter appear.
Middle Key: It is a back-light and subtracting key. Pressing it once while the altimeter appears in the
form of general functions can start its back light, and in the adjusting mode,
pressing it each time can subtract one from a number.
Right Key: It is a temperature unit change-over key and adding key in the adjusting mode.
Pressing it in the pressure or altitude mode can change a temperature unit from ℃ to ℉ or
from ℉ to ℃, while pressing it each time in the adjusting mode can add one to the number.
To turn on the machine, press any key. The machine will be automatically turned off to save
power if no operation is done within three minutes after it is turned on.

Measuring a Relative Altitude
◎After the machine is turned on, pressing the left key once will change the barometer
mode to the altimeter mode, a function displayed on the screen, and on the screen left side
will be shown “ ALTI” and the reading of an altitude.
◎Keeping press the left key until the screen displays “0m” and flashes, and then press the middle key
to make an altitude reading return to zero. After that, altitude measurement can be made. Pressing
the left key again can change the measuring unit to feet, and pressing it once
again can make the barometer mode return.
Measuring a Absolute Altimeter
After the machine is turned on (If the altitude mode remained when the machine was turned off last time,
it will directly enter the altitude mode this time.), pressing the left key once will change the screen display
function from the barometer mode to the altitude mode.
◎ Keep pressing the left key until the screen displays “0m” and flashes. Pressing the left key once will make
the screen show “Adj” and flash. Then press the middle key (-) or right key (+), and after that, push the left
key to complete a setting and to return to the altitude mode. Pressing the left key again can change the measuring
unit to feet. Push the left key once again to return to the barometer mode.
The machine can display temperature. Pressing the right key can change a temperature unit
from ℃ to ℉ or from ℉ to ℃.
4. Weather Forecast
The machine can automatically accumulate the atmospheric pressure changes in the past 12 hours with which we can
forecast weather. As this function is based on the pressure change at a sea level, it is necessary to enter an altitude value
for the location where the machine is, and to place it at a fixed position after entering an
altitude value so that more accurate weather forecast
Entering an Altitude Value for a Location
In the mode of atmospheric pressure, keep pressing the left key until the
screen displays “SEA” and an altitude value
in the middle, and flashes. Press the middle key (-) or right key (+) and enter an altitude value for a location,
and after that, push the left key to complete an altitude setting.
Note: How to obtain an altitude value for a location
1. It can be obtained from the data published on the website of the meteorological agency for a location, or you may
inquire the agency to gain a sea-level pressure value. After subtracting a pressure value displayed on the machine from the
sea-level pressure value and multiplying the difference by 8, you can get an approximate altitude value (m) for the location, and
you can also get a value in feet by multiplying the value in meter by 3.
