Cobra, Cobra2, and Cobra3 dive computers
Suunto Quick Release allows you to connect the
cylinder pressure gauge to the regulator pressure port with one quick and easy
move. Disconnecting is just as simple.
The Quick Release is installed between the gauge and
the hose or between the hose and regulator first stage. This allows you to store
the dive instruments in a safe place, independently from the cylinder, and
download the dive information easily between several dives. It is fast and
Suunto Quick release fits the entire Combo console
range, as well as Suunto Cobra, Cobra2, and Cobra3 dive computers.
Suunto Cobra3 is an all-in-one
console-mounted dive computer. It features air-integration, an electronic 3D
compass, an easy-to-read matrix display, and simplified four-button operation.
Suunto Cobra3 monitors and displays your tank pressure, tracks your
rate of air consumption, and continuously calculates your remaining air time. It
also provides visual and audible alarms for depth and pressure and warns you
when you're running low on air.
Suunto Cobra3 features a unique electronic 3D compass that can be
tilted up to 45 degrees in any direction, making it easier to read the figures
clearly and accurately under water.
The easy-to-read dot matrix display and electro-luminescent backlight
mean all your dive-critical information – including bearing, tank pressure,
depth, and dive time – will all be shown clearly. And with the simplified
four-button operation, the computer is easy to operate even when wearing gloves.
With its Nitrox, Air, and Gauge modes and gas-switching capabilities,
Suunto Cobra3 delivers everything you need to maximize bottom time and make the
most of every dive. When using enriched air, Suunto Cobra3 can be programmed for
nitrox mixtures between 21% and 100% oxygen. You can also adjust oxygen partial
pressure between 0.5 and 1.6 bar. In Gauge mode, it can also be used as a depth
gauge and timer with profile memory.
Using the Suunto Deep Stop RGBM algorithm, Suunto Cobra3 enables
continuous decompression for optimal ascent time. For deeper dives, the Deep
Stop option adds further protection with a series of deep stops between your
maximum depth and ceiling.
When in Nitrox mode, you can accelerate
decompression by switching to a gas mix with a higher oxygen percentage. With
Suunto Cobra3 it's quick and easy to switch between enabled gas mixes while
Plan and review
You can test upcoming dives and view no-decompression and decompression
time data for different depths before getting in the water with the built-in
dive simulator. When the dive is over, get detailed graphical logs and dive data
on your computer using Suunto DM4 with Movescount software.

More Info on the Cobra,
What are the external dimensions of the
Cobra, Cobra2 and Cobra3 diving computers?
The Cobra, Cobra2 and Cobra3 measure 61mm x 28mm
How can I adjust the contrast of the LCD display?
Unfortunately it is not possible to adjust the display contrast on
Is the battery user replaceable?
Yes, battery replacement kits are available at Suunto authorized retailers
specializing in diving products.
When examining the details of a dive with SDM the information shows
that the dive computer changed from displaying 5 minutes ascent time
(decompression required) to 4 minutes of no stop dive time remaining within
a 20 second period. This was with very little change in depth. Please
explain how this can be correct?
This is quite normal, as the tissue pressures of all 9 compartment in the
model are not updated at the same time. Also note that Asc Time includes
safety stop time which may be 3-5min or even more. Please also keep in mind
that the SDM software only represents a recreation of the data shown during
the dive, and does not 100% correspond to the data displayed during the
Can I switch modes between dives i.e. make two dives using air,
third dive using EAN (Nitrox) , can the computer deal with this?
It is possible to switch from Air to Nitrox mode but not the other way
around until the no-fly time has counted down. The reason you cannot switch
back and forth is that there is no CNS/OTU display in Air mode, although
there is CNS/OTU uptake. If you could switch back and forth freely it would
be possible go near the limits in Nitrox mode, and exceed them in Air mode
withouth getting a warning.
In my computer current units are set to Celsius and meters. I want
to change them to Fahrenheit and feet, how can I do it?
To change from Celsius and meters to feet and Fahrenheit in the Vyper,
Cobra, Vytec, Vytec DS and Gekko please proceed as follows: Press mode and
scroll to Set. Press mode again and scroll to set preferences. Select and
scroll to Units. Here you can choose between metric and imperial units.
Confirm your choice with the Mode button. Please note that the older Vyper
model (green or black) does not have user selectable units.
To change units in the Vyper2, Vyper Air, Cobra2, Cobra3, Hel02, D4, D6 and
D9 enter the menu by pressing the 'DOWN' button for 3 seconds then select
'UNITS' from the menu.
Why are some of my dives no longer accessable or downloadable to the
Dive Manager software?
Suunto diving computers have a circular memory, meaning that once the memory
is full the oldest dives will be overwritten. The amount of dives you can
store in the diving computer depends on which sample rate (the frequency at
which data is stored) you have chosen.
Why can't I access AIR or NITROX modes on my diving computer?
If you dive with the computer in GAUGE mode then there is a 48 hour
no-fly period during which AIR and NITROX modes are unavailable. They can be
selected again once the no-fly time has counted down.
