PURPOSE AND USEFULNESS:

These Steampunk Goggles are recommended for use by Mad Scientists, Quirky Doktors, Volcano Inspectors, Intrepid Explorers (and their Esteemed Companions), Royalty and Commoners, Maritime Adventurers, Skyship Jockeys, Airship Captains and Apocalyptic Admirals and their Ladies ...

These Magnificent Steampunk Goggles are Extremely Useful in protecting ones eyes:
- From the Intensity of nearby Explosions
- While cutting through Steel to escape Imprisonment
- From the Blazing Sun while taking Sextant readings in your Dirigible
- From flying fragments of Shrapnel during Bombardment!

DESCRIPTION:
  • Size:
    Goggles approx. 7" (17cm) Wide, 4-1/4" (7cm) High, 3.5" (9cm) Deep. Black elastic strap will stretch to easily fit any size head or hat.
  • Colors:
    Steampunk Goggles are Black, Visor Assembly is painted to look like antiqued, beat-up, grungy old brass. The filigree piece on the side is painted/antiqued Brass. Inner lenses are clear, outer lenses are Translucent Blue layered vinyl.
  • Materials:
    The body is rubber and the visor assembly is painted PVC plastic. Strap is Black 1/2" elastic. Filigree is Brass. Lenses are plastic layered with vinyl.

WELDERS PLEASE TAKE NOTE: The blue lenses are NOT suitable for welding; however, I do have plenty of dark welders' green lenses hanging around here, so if you want a pair with your goggles, I'll be happy to send them along, gratis. Just drop me a note!

ADDITIONAL TRIVIA:  They will fit right over your regular glasses, as well.  Nice!

WHO WE ARE

Steam Circus specializes in creating and providing Steampunk costuming pieces, including goggles, jewelry and other accessories, and an occasional décor piece.  We are also always seeking unique vintage pieces suitable for Neo-Victorian, EGL (Elegant Goth Lolita), Elegant Goth Aristocrat (EGA), Dieselpunk cosplay and LARP (Live Action Role-Play) use.

What is Steampunk? A cross between Science Fiction and a whimsical re-imagination of the world as if life (including all machines running on steam) and styles had stayed the same since around the time of Jules Verne (sometimes this genre of costuming is referred to as “Vernian”). The costuming is not, however, limited to the Edwardian or Victorian time periods – “Dieselpunk” costuming generally covers the time period between the end of the Victorian era and WWII.

Why Steampunk?  Well, besides just being pure FUN, it’s amazing the number of artists to see and find making beautiful objects and accessories.  In addition, Steampunk is a Great form of family entertainment!  Who doesn’t like to dress up in fancy costumes??  You know what they say about the family that Cosplays together, lol!
