To Boldly Go Where No Jewelry Has Gone... since the 1970s! On offer is this superb Modernist Abstract white gold and natural star sapphire art ring. Star sapphires were THE stone to have in the 1970s, and these rings were popular (though you mostly see bright cobalt-blue synthetic versions with very sharp stars). The natural star sapphires tend to have a more diffuse star and softer coloring, with hints of violet.
This ring is a petite but easily re-sized size 5 1/4. It weighs 3.40g total. The stone spans about 3-4mm, and is a deep cabochon that stops just short of being a sphere. It's in very good vintage condition, with only a little wear to the stone. This wonderful art ring has a terrific Star Trek "vintage Sci-Fi" quality about it. Upscale geekery for the Trekkie who's arrived? HINT: Swap out the sapphire for a diamond and you have a Trekkie engagement ring, yay! I'll be glad to answer any questions you may have about it!
COMMON-SENSE DISCLAIMERS: Photographs are magnified, please refer to size, number measurements/weights of stones/metals, etc given in the listing. Colors may not show exact, due to monitor display differences. Metals without hallmarks have been acid tested. Diamonds have been tested. Diamond grading is subjective, therefore cannot be guaranteed. All my jewelry is used, vintage or antique and will thus show wear appropriate to its age and material. I do my best to report any damage as I believe in full disclosure, but am only human and may miss something occasionally. If there's a problem with your item, let me know within 3 days of receipt, and we'll come to a mutually satisfactory solution.
PAYMENT OPTIONS: Paypal with CONFIRMED addresses! If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact me.
DOMESTIC SHIPPING: Is by USPS Priority insured mail with Signature Confirmation
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: I may consider shipping to CONFIRMED addresses only in Canada or the UK. Please contact me if you are interested. Note you may incur hefty Customs, Import, and/or VAT taxes and fees. You will want to check with your country's import authorities to find out if the item is allowed and what these charges might be. Please don't confuse these charges for additional shipping fees. Also, items can sit in your country's customs docket for weeks! Please don't penalize me for this, I ship same or next business day.
MY PHOTOS: Are taken without flash under an Ott Light. Please excuse my unbeautiful hand, but it's the best way to show the true scale of a ring!
WHY COLLECT JEWELRY? It's art, history and culture in a conveniently small, portable package. It's WEALTH: Invest in something that has *intrinsic* value (clothes, shoes, handbags, and knick-knacks don't have this)! Yes, gold will keep going up! It may fluctuate, but eventually it's always going to go UP in value. Even if you don't wear jewelry often, it's still something nice to have around.
