Stanley Bedrock No 605 Jack Plane
Type 6a or 7?
All Parts correct for this early example but appears to be transitional between type 6a and 7
Lightly cleaned estate sale find
Good Japanning with some paint splatters
Great rosewood. Both have original finish with some tool box dings. No repairs . Front knob has one small tight crack that is hardly noticeable.
Lever cap has Bedrock name that would make this plane a type 6a but the base has one patent date - Apr - 19- 10 that would place this gem in the Type 7 category? One small "flea tick" chip in lever cap
No Cracks , chips, or repairs in casting
The blade is unique. It has the notched Stanley Logo with a patent number. Early transition from the Sweet Hart Tm ????
Great user or addition to your antique tool collection
