I briefly dropped in on a class given using this book and decided it was a "had to have". The color info & chain piecing is like paper or foundation piecing without the hassle, which was great. I love pictures and wide use of materials to show versitility and pics were just OK. The gals in the class used fab material & I was amazed at the individualized look each achieved in their quilts using this book as guide. From baby to very sophisticated batik, each was wonderful and they said easy. However, I thought the book would have tear out patterns for those of us too insecure to just cut into a stack of fabric. So I was very, very disappointed that wasn't offered but did have blow-ups made. Going to try this fast and easy method next week. Of course you have to have great new fabric for these patterns so a quilt shop run is in order.Read full review
Another winning book from Karla Alexander. Clear instructions. Projects in the book are wonderful, but it's the technique that will get your creative juices flowing! I would definately recommend this book (and others by this author).
Karla's books are fabulous. I love batiks and find many patterns that work really well with her techniques.
