This phone has a color display and is able to play movie and music files. The ability to add a micro-memory chip gets rid of out of memory problems. I really like being able to connect to the computer and get on the internet using free sony software from their website. FM radio is a neat and works well and needs wired ear buds. Will not work is wireless versions even though phone has bluetooth. Using bluetooth Plantronics ear unit works well with this phone. This phone on ATT seems to average in weak signal areas. Dropping this phone repeatedly has not caused any performance issues. Running into stuff with it on my waist has not hurt it other than minor cosmetic scratches. Battery life is dependable at 3 days with occasional short phone calls. Charge time with a standard wall charger is less than 4 hours.Read full review
as clam-shell style phones go.. this is one of the better ones that were available several years ago when i originally purchased it. after years of reliable service i drop'd it in water and poof. all in all.. this is still the best phone of its style class. the text is clear and the buttons feel just right. it has lots of features and i've even used it once as personal security device when a guy tried to rob me. though i wouldn't recommend such usage as i'm sure its against the warranty to do so. ;) the only downside to this phone that i've found is that the phone will reboot or shutoff without warning sometimes. but a quick trip the sony style store for a replacement battery and a fresh wipe of the os seems to fix this problem straight away.
I bought this phone used to replace a V3r Razr that is supplied by my employer on AT&Ts network. It seems to have a lot more features, and so far the ones that I have tried work well. I will not be trying the data or multi-media online (video, etc), because the company's plan does not cover it. After learning new ways to do things like TXT and calling up quick-dial numbers, I like the phone. A LOT easier to see and hear than the V3r ever was! I have not tried teaching or using the voice dial function yet, but that will come soon. I would like to have a Razr V3i for the adaptive voice dial, but unless I find one cheap, this will do nicely. I can load a bunch of favorite MP3s in the 2 gig card that I added and listen to them when I want without bringing an MP3 player, too. I do wish it used regular mini-SD cards instead of Sony proprietary, though. I have now tried the voice dial. It works as well as Motorola's, but is much slower to respond. You have to wait for a loud beep each time. Here is a hint if you are like me and have many more than the max SIM numbers to transfer between phones - gather up those old un-flashed SIMs that came with phones you no longer use and use them for transfer of partial sections of your phone book. I am presently able to transfer mine with two SIMs, and not mess with my active AT&T SIM.Read full review
This phone is very sleek and easy to use, carry, open, text...I love the front cover..it looks solid in color, but it's like a halogram..if you tilt it, you see the display, then it lights up completely whe you open the phone. very cool!
