Sony SDM-HS73 (Black) 17" LCD Monitor
This monitor seems to be very durable. Even with obvious blemishes on the screen surface they do not detract from the images displayed. The viewing area is huge compared to a 15" monitor. I can adjust the window frame size so I never have to use the horizontal scroll. The built-in display adjust is controlled by front mounted buttons which required a little bit of practice and when used with the utility for tuning the Monitor produces a display I have no complaint with. Unfortunately (in this particular unit) the color adjustment for green had gone non-functional so I was unable to re change the relative color setting, but the red and blue worked so a simple work around was to adjust them to the same max setting as the green. Once I figured this out I locked the red/green/blue gamma adjustment for Windows Display Characteristics of my particular display adapter made and then I could adjust the final appearance to my satisfaction. Sony has kept an archive for drivers and manuals for this unit so buying an out of production Monitor can be less frustrating. They have a utility for fine tuning the picture which was very helpful in optimizing the display appearance. Navigating the Sony website not complicated as long as you know what product line (monitor etc.) and model numbers.Read full review

Great Resolution and Viewing Angle
The Sony SDM-HS73 17" monitor has a very sleek look to it. It seems to be larger that 17" when watching it. Great resolution for the price, and a greater viewing angle that other LCD monitors that I have used. Great tilting angle too, and I like the removable panel at the rear for hiding cables and connections. I purchased the item to go with a VAIO desktop tower that was grey and silver, and the white and grey finish matches perfectly. I had also heard that some Sony monitors had special connections only compatable with other Sony equipment but this is not the case of this model.

any good thing may have a risk
one of our customer have the same moniter. i thought the inverter was bad. in order to save my time to test it, i bought other one and using its parts to test the bad one. also i could get some reference data to fix it later. when i got monitor from ebay, i found it also had some problem. i quickly put two into one and gave back to the custome and make some money. in the future, i will try to fix it when i have time. when i found the moniter have some problem, it was too late to return since the part i need is good. doing business on ebay, i have to take risk some time.

Sony SDM-SH94P Flat Panel LCD TFT Computer Monitor
I am a Sony product fan. So buying this was a natural for me. There products do tend to be pricey, but I think generally the product is of a very high end quality. I like the Performance of the monitor. I have found no dead pixels or any of the performance problems I have seen others mention at times. As this was a used item, the price and the quality are exceptional. The only odd thing was the foot cover for the monitor is cracked and broken, I don't know how or why. That was the only small issue. Sony products are GREAT !!!
