The SL10 is the last Clie, a defunct Palm compatible made by SONY, to use AAA batteries. It will last over 2 weeks at 30-60min of use daily, and longer if your daily usage is less. Unlike color Clies, the 256 grey scale LCD screen does not suffer from color distortion as the LCD ages, can be read in bright sunlight without backlighting, and has a memory card slot. Nearly all color LCDs use rechargable LiIon batteries, so buying a used color Palm needs to consider a new battery [$5-30] plus the s/h to get it [ its very rare to find it retail.] Alas, even if cheap, LiIon has a shelf life that fails simply with age, even without use, so those available on the net will be aging stock. With the SL10, if you can stomach non-color screens, will have fresh batteries all the time. Full details in here: http://www.epinions.com/content_83649990276Read full review
SL-10 ends line of alkaline-battery powered handhelds. No such mashines will be produced in a years. This unit seatures 320x320 b/w screen, classical memory stick slot (not pro, not duo). Actually, I've been used to such handheld since 2003, and I'll say that almost everything excluding games, wireless networking (not IRDA), internet and multimedia can be done on this unit. And now I have a spare one! Color screen is a hoax. Wireless too puny and unreliable. MP3s are not needed. Blackberyy isn't worth wasting YOUR money (but company's money!. Byu it if you need to work it far from porwerlines. Android and iPnone spy on you and cant' work more than a day. Windows 8 is dead. So, Palm OS only! (still working as of 09 feb. 2014)
It is a good Palm 4 based device. It has a monochrome screen and is powered by 2 AA batteries. It is easy to use and does what it does well. The high resolution screen B&W screen looks great and consumes less power than it's color counterpart. It uses a standard USB cable to sync with the Palm desktop program (Great, no funny cables) Uses regular standard batteries (Great, no Lion battery to fail and No charger and cables to loose) It uses the old sony memory stick for backups and storing data ( not so good) A good basic palm device if you don't need a color screen
This is the perfect palm pilot for beginners. It is really easy to use and the graffiti feature is awesome. This lets you write the letters with the stylus and it "types" them for you. It is also very easy to sync with your computer and to back everything up. It would be nice if the screen would light up a bit more with the back light, however, and if you want to play games on it you can't really see anything. Overall though it is a very good product and I would recomend it to anyone starting out with a hand held.
Great classic PDA. and it uses 2AAA batteries so I could use this pretty much forever! lol. This is better than other PDA's coz the others uses built in battery. As long as there is AAA batteries on the market. This is great. I use it as a alternative address book, Alarm clock, calculator, note pad and so much more! This is great! Another best thing is it is made in JAPAN.
