We live about 55 miles from Huntsville, Al and we wanted a TV Antenna for when the weather got bad and the satellite dish reception went out. I researched a bunch of web sites about an antenna that would receive a good signal for 50-70 miles. I settled on the Xtreme Signal HDTV 8 Bay Bowtie Outdoor TV Antenna HDB8X and I'm glad that I did. The antenna only weighs about 8 pounds so with a 10 foot pole attached my wife didn't have any problem pulling it up to me on the 50 foot tower. Got it mounted and then ran the cable and an amplifier because I had a cable run of 150 feet. When I started to fine tune the direction of the antenna I found out that the small X shaped antenna's need to be in front of the antenna for it to pick up signals better. It doesn't show in the instructions. I tried it both ways so just remember as it isn't in the instructions. I'm now picking up 21 channels and this will be great when the weather is bad. We got 3 CBS, 3 ABC, 3 NBC, 3 PBS, METV, GRIT, Bounce, Escape and 3 Fox Channels. All of them came in great and the picture was as good as satellite. Great antenna and couldn't be happier.Read full review

Disappointing. After seeing a very convincing YouTube video I bought one. Geesh! After a huge hassle installing in my attic (I'm in a high wind area) on my hands and knees the antenna does not pick up channel 13 at all or higher very well. It supposed to according to the listing. Seller wants me to buy an additional antenna. WHAT? I have limited space but NOT for another antenna. After a couple months of hassling with this thing (it's on a rotor, plenty of clearane) I took it down replacing it with the figure 8 thing I had up originally. Keep in mind a digital TV has to be reprogrammed every time you move the antenna....I spent hours and hours with this thing. Geeesh!! Anyone want to buy mine before I use it as a BBQ grill today (July 4th)?

Product is well made and easy to assemble. Shipping was very fast and double boxed. I live in a rural area that sets low and is surrounded by trees and a water tower. I placed the antenna at the corner of the porch (the sweet spot for signal at my location). It is about 5 feet off the ground with a 30 foot run of coax. I do not use a amplifier. I was getting 15 stations before and now I get 27. The nearest tower is 30 miles away and the most distant is over 70. All come in clear with only normal problems that come with weather, aircraft, or beater cars with bad plug wires. I like the feature that allows you to aim one side independent from the other. Right now they are even but if needed I can move the one side about 2 inches out if needed. I am sold on the bow-tie configuration. I was using a smaller bow-tie for about two years. The smaller one costs about twice as much as the new one and it wasn't built as good. Overall I recommend this product and the seller!Read full review

Best antenna I've found... I tried a number of cheaper antennas, but something changed this last spring after a storm went through - it seems like I cant find that 'sweet spot' that all the channels came in without my having to move the antenna. Even with this one, the channels that are to the west where it is aimed are perfect regardless of conditions, but the stations to the east come and go with the weather and time of day - literally! I ordered another of these to mount to the same mast, but pointing east, so hopefully I will once again have all my stations without having to adjust the antenna position. This is a passive antenna, and I do run a signal amplifier for now, but I'm hoping once I install the second one, the signals will be strong enough I won't need one. Time will tell...Read full review

Amazing reception at an affordable price($69). I moved from Port Charlotte where I had a 7' long antenna in my attic with an Amplifier/Signal Booster, the Fort Myers Towers for the Major Networks are located off E Bermont Rd, Punta Gorda about 15 miles SE, the antenna was aimed towards E Tampa, where all the Tampa/St Pete Towers are about 75 miles away, it was easy to pick up the Fort Myers stations off the tail end of the antenna, moving to Sarasota, FL required a bit more thought & ingenuity as it's about midway between the Towers, 45 miles from Tampa, 55 from Punta Gorda Towers. Research paid off in finding the Xtreme Signal HDB8X, a Bowtie type antenna that can be aimed in 2 directions, taking advantage of both area signals. After the initial hookup I was able to pull in 15 Stations, after installing a Channel Master Amplifier/Signal Booster I was able to get 61 Channels, plus it's a Smart TV with Roku, the Channels are near unlimited. Before choosing an Amplifier/Booster I did some research, there are mixed reviews with some of the Chinese Boosters, choosing a Channel Master made a big difference. The total cost was $69 for the antenna & $39 for the Booster, it beats paying $50 - $100 monthlyRead full review
