Mixed feelings about this one again. Seasons 1 & 2 blew me away so fiercefully, that it is hard to live up to them. Obviously, I was eager to digest this season rapidly, as I wanted to know what would become of the gang. I expected Nate's fate to arrive, although I wish the writers had developed something more positive between Nate and Brenda. I guess you could chalk that down to style writing. I tend to like Hollywood endings, and I guess I wished that Nate and Brenda would work out, and recapture their 'fire' before Nate slipped off. I felt that Maggie was a rather shallow and 2-D character, and didn't really see what Nate's interest in her was: she was homely and rather dull in my book. While I enjoyed seeing Claire embark on a tour of 'the real world' by temping, I would have liked to see her explode more and really develop her sense of creativity. Overall, I think Alan Ball and Co. ended the series with a whimper, rather than a bang. There are brilliant moments over the season's 12 episodes, but nothing that can compare with the first two seasons, which were truly enthralling. They abandoned the deceased's role in each episode, and I just found each chapter rather dull. The only real bright spot was the final episode, which ended beautifully. I must admit that I always thought that the soundtracks of all these episodes were great; it showed that the people responsible for using music to manipulate emotions were really on their toes. I would recommend this series for the completists out there. if you loved the show, buy this. You should own the series in its entirety, although I expected more. Much more.Read full review
If you haven't seen the series, you're missing out on something pretty spectacular. It has many actors/actresses that you'll recognize from other movies and shows. It also has the BEST series ending EVER.

I bought this a while back and you can always resell it back on ebay which is a good thing. I am really sorry to see this story (Six Feet Under:The Complete Fifth Season) come to an end, It show so many diversities in the world today, which is good. It Can hopefully help people to understand so many things that goes on in life. It was as if it was actually living in todays world. With the drugs, Gay life style, depression, sickness and family situations. I am sorry to see this series has came to an end.I have all to many likes. But the ending was well thought out and I loved it. But as they say all good things must come to an end. Ths story was great, the ending was just wonderful, never expected it to be like that. I have nothing but good things to say and write about this series -Six Feet Under:The Complete Fifth Season. If you get a chance watch the whole series 1-5 but Five was favorite, but all sesons were wonderful. Excellent recommendation I give to it, very well written and directed, Characters/Actors were all sensational. This is one to watch and it is well worth the buy. The only dislike I have is it has came to an end and the series is over. I really enjoyed watching all the seasons, but Five was my best one. The other seasons were all also great. I would recommend this to anyone to watch. Never a boring moment. Two Thumb's up on this series.Read full review
I bought the fifth season of Six Feet Under because I own the other four seasons of the show that just happens to be my all-time favorite. The fifth season is my favorite season of them all. Most people usually say that the first or second season were the best, but season five was a gem. After the dark, almost boring fourth season, this season was a breath of fresh air. The characters are at the top of their game. Everyone is portrayed as they really are. The final few episodes of this season, the series finale, are intense. Even that isn't giving them justice. The final minutes of the last episode are so emotional, and one of the best endings to a show ever. The special features include a looking back on the entire show with cast interviews. It's nice to see the cast, outside of their characters. I seriously recommend any Six Feet Under fan to get this. But, I'm sure you don't need any coaxing.Read full review
This is the 5th & final season of the popular HBO show. The inner case is even made to resemble a tombstone. It simply says "Six Feet Under 2001-2005." As with the previous 4 seasons, the viewer is introduced to new interesting characters. And the regular roles are just as interesting as ever. If you enjoyed the other seasons, you'll love this. I own all five seasons on DVD. The only regret I have is that it REALLY is over. There is not, nor will there be, a season 6. I really miss watching it. I really, really cared about the lives of the people in the show. I feel like I lost a lot of close friends. If you've seen seasons 1,2,3 &4, the ending of 5 will rip your soul from your body.
