this is a rather nice quality half pint tankard to classic tapered design with a scolled handle, it is marked on the base as per eighth photo denoting the silversmiths as the well renowned and prestigious Mappin & Webb of London & Sheffield c.1900-1940, there are a couple of very tiny spots to the interior which is otherwise clean, the exterior and handle have some light wear and other blemishes generally and the base rim is somewhat misshapen causing a slight rock, there is an engraving on the front as shown in third photo, and a weights & measures stamp on the top rim as seen in fifth photo, despite the foregoing this is still an interesting tankard so in our opinion, and opinion is subjective, there are no major issues, as there are no dents or repairs, just normal surface scratches dings dimples and blemishes commensurate with age and use, but please look at photos to make up your own mind:
diameter @ top: 3"/7.5cms
We give this description to the best of our ability, as we see the item, we do not profess to be experts, however we are human and therefore not infallible. All our items are secondhand, used, and previously owned, and are not, by definition, in a pristine condition. If you have an issue with your purchase, because of a discrepancy with our description, or any inadvertent misrepresentation, then please just give us the chance to put the matter right as we have a 'no quibble' return policy, therefore it is totally unnecessary to send nasty messages or to leave negative or neutral feedback, both of which are not in the spirit of eBay anyway. We are quite prepared to offer a refund on receipt of the returned item, in the same condition and packaging, within 14 days of receipt if you are unhappy with your purchase because we really do appreciate your custom, however we do not refund the cost of returning the item which must be by a tracked method. Thank you.
Now for the 'Boring Bits' but PLEASE read them:
