The biggest reason I bought the Sharp LC-52D65U was because it was BIG! Granted, I was used to a 27" CRT so everything looked large in comparison. Once I bought the TV and got it out of the box, it was staggering how large it was in my little house. Of course, after about a week of watching it was just 'normal' again. The price for size of screen was the main factor that led me to purchase this model. There were smaller screens that cost more that I felt had poorer picture quality. The jump up to a 60" was too much cost and impractical for my living space. This model was the perfect blend of large size, great picture quality and good price I was looking for. The picture quality took a little bit to get the way I thought looked best, based on mostly color settings. Depending on the kind of programming, for instance, animated vs. live action, the color could appear too pink or green. As well, if you view the picture too far off center, you lose the saturation of color and can get the same effect. However, this seems to be the case with most LCDs. If you have a wide room where you are viewing TV at an angle, plasma might be a better solution. I must say though, once I played with the menu and dialed in the settings, it really is an impressive picture. Playing Wii video games is pretty fun on such a big screen since you really feel drawn into the action and not just watching it.Read full review
