Set of 6 RARE Early 19th C. Antique Silver Spoons

By Col. David Hedges, Jr., East Hampton, NY

RARE ESTATE FIND ~ Set of six (6) antique silver tablespoons/serving spoons by noted silversmith David Hedges, JR. (1779-1856). Table/serving spoons measure 1.75 inches wide and 9.25 inches long. David Hedges worked from 1801 to 1830 as a silversmith in East Hampton, New York from a shop south of Clinton Academy. Orders for gold and silver objects by Hedges found in the account book entries of John Lyon Gardiner of East Hampton, 1804-1809. Hedges was appointed assemblyman for Suffolk County, NY from 1825 to 1833. He was a colonel in the New York Militia/supervisor, 1812-1814. He represented Suffolk County in the Assembly from 1825-1833. I have taken photos of monograms and marks. I believe these are coin silver as their creation predates the use of Sterling Silver in the U.S. Each spoon weighs about 29.8 dwts.

I have additional sterling silver and Tiffany & Co. sterling silver pieces from this same estate listed individually in my Ebay store My Stores Logo.

Nice vintage condition.

U.S. buyers/shipping only please. Free shipping in continental U.S. I accept PayPal.
