This auction is for a set of 2 matching antique elementary school desks. These desks would have been placed one behind the other in a classroom. They are small, only 26" high. The top is 18" x 13", the seat is 18" x 10". The seat slides and notches into place on the cast iron frame. There is a shelf under the desk portion. There is a hole in the desktop of each for the inkwell. The sides are ornamental cast iron. They are currently bolted to wood blocks. Overall they are in good shape, a bit dusty from storage, and they show some general wear and age.
I do not have the history on these, but they are approximately 60 years old. I have several other auctions for vintage and antique furniture (rocking chairs, kitchen chairs, pump organ etc), so please check them out. This item is for pick-up only, no shipping. |
