I surprised my brother with this game when he visited. He played the entire game and beat it in one sitting. He got discouraged at "The Final Marathon" but managed to pull through and beat it. Good Times.

In the early 90's, I bought my first copy and I was hooked. Very unique and fun game that delivers tons of gameplay and should be added to everyone's collection.

Kid Chameleon was released in 1992 on the Sega Genesis and later ported to PC. The game is a fairly unique platformer with some ideas of Super Mario thrown in. Like Mario you can smash blocks with your head to find items as well as turn into different characters (like Mario 3) that possess different powers. Everything from a samurai, a tornado, a tank, an axe maniac and more. The only major problem with the game is with all this fun comes no save points & no passwords. For a game with 100+ levels/1850+ screens that means you have to complete this insanely difficult game in one sitting every time, which means completing the same levels over and over again. BORING!! This major flaw holds Kid Chameleon back from being a classic but instead making it only average at best. 2 1/2 out 5 starsRead full review
This is hands down my favorite Game on the Sega Genesis. The player, as Kid Chameleon, progresses through a series of levels. Most levels contain a flag, which is the primary goal of each level, from which the player progresses to the next level. However, a number of teleporters throughout the game can warp the player not only to different places in the same level, but also to different levels, and sometimes to an entirely different path through the game. At the end of the game, Kid fights and defeats the final boss, Heady Metal. Kid Chameleon contains nearly a hundred levels, of which only about half are on the "main path" (traversing levels only by flags), and also counts the two-dozen smaller unnamed levels, simply called "Elsewhere". Despite the game's considerable length, there was no password system or other method of saving the game.Read full review
In this age of TRILLION-mega bit games, where imaginative, exciting game-play takes a back-seat to the graphic content of games,this"throwback"scroller-type game"Kid Chameleon"stands in a class by itself,as far as exciting,ENGROSSING game-PLAY is concerned!! You'll have SO much fun, changing from character to character, while dispatching the bad guys, that you'll find that HOURS have quickly passed amidst your exhilerating game-experience!! No OTHER game has ever caused me to become OBSESSED with"beating"the game!! I really can't say ENOUGH about this game!! This was by FAR,my fondest memory of the '90s'!! A game like this comes along only ONCE in a LIFETIME!!
