I just finished reading it. The book has a great concept. I can see how the idea is already working in my family. I am going to read it again and go through all the chapter questions and do the sections in the back of the book as a family. I really think this is just what my family needs. It is a lifestyle not a quick fix. I dont want to give away anything thats in the book but we are doing secret "acts of kindness" on a regular basis and I see how it is changing our hearts. I cant wait to do more of the ideas.
A look at injecting the idea of "honor" into family relationships, aside from the concept of respect. A fast read with lots of ideas and tips for Moms and Dads to deal with negative attitudes in their kids (and themselves). A little pop-psych-y. Read it in conjunction with a Biblical parenting book, Shepherding a Child's Heart and found it a little shallow in comparison, but helpful.
I found this book to be very helpful and practical. I liked the fact that it didn't focus on negative behaviors, but rather created a positive vision of family members honoring each other. Unlike many other parenting books, it wasn't just about children's behavior; it was about each person in the family relating to each other with kindness, helpfulness, and respect.
