To this day, I have not found a more well rounded 7 inch tablet than the Galaxy 7.0 Plus. The Ir Remote is a very functional add on that basically ties a Harmony remote into your tablet. The Exynos Processor is the same used in the Galaxy S II and international Galaxy Note phones - and the Mali GPU routinely outpaces anything from the Tegra 2 camp. The screen resolution in 1024x600, with pretty vivid color and decent viewing angles. My only gripes with the this tab is the proprietay connector and lack of ICS - although a port of CM( is in progress, Samsung seems to have left this product out to pasture in order to push the Galaxy Tab 2, even though the Plus has better hardware. I would tell any shopper considering the 7 inch Galaxy tab, to first give this one a hard look. It will be on ICS in the very near future - and at that point will mop the floor with the newer version from a performance standpoint - while being cheaper.Read full review
Bought this as an upgrade for my sister's original Galaxy Tab 7.0. Paid $269.99 for it and I think it's a steal. + Lighter. The design makes it feel much much thinner than the original, even if the difference isn't that big. + Build quality is superb as expected from Samsung. + Samsung Exynos dual-core processor is fast! + Beautiful screen. Not Super AMOLED but very bright and contrasty. Colors are vibrant. + Battery life also improved. - Samsung Exynos is fast but Honeycomb is the bottleneck. Need ICS upgrade asap, thankfully that should be within a month or two. - I don't like Samsung's personal Touchwiz interface. Feels slower than stock HC. At $269.99, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. But any higher and I'd have to pause to think since newer tablets are coming out with better specs for that price range.Read full review
I really like the tablet. It is a great size. It fits in my jacket pocket. I got it because I was traveling a bunch and wanted something less bulky to take with me for mail. I knew little about android or tablets. It has turned out much better than I hoped. It combines multiple e-mail accounts. I use it as a Kindle reader and can listen to music while I am doing it. I read many more books because of it and like the fact that I don't have to read over the fold and hold a bulky book. I stream movies for the grandkids with the HDMI adapterand when at the beach where where is not much on the TV. It was fun learning Android operation and dealing with getting apps. I am a bit of a computer junky so it was fun. For those not so inclined it could be a bit daunting. I got a few Andriod Office apps to see which I liked the best and can now open and edit Office docs and Adobe reader. I am fooling around with video and pictures and file management systems. I have tried the games but they appear pretty lame. Angry Birds seems a bit childish for an adult, but to each his own. Most of them are of no interest to me so far. I got the USB host cable and attached an old keyboard and mouse I have for use at the beach. Using the soft keyboard and screen are okay, but this makes it easier when it is my sole e-mail device and I want to input longer messages. I use the power cable to download stuff from my PC to the tablet and use Cheetah Synch Bluetooth connectivity to synch some files between the PC and Tablet. I was surprised I could do so from the other side of the house. I thought Bluetooth had a very short range, but it is obviously long enough to get across my humble abode. My wife uses it for her email when at the beach and I was concerned that she may struggle with the different method of operation from Windows. She seems to have gotten it pretty quick and while she doesn't like the keyboard, she is making due for the short periods we use it.Read full review
I love this device its awesome!!!! I had an Ipad and it was nice but to me this is the rolls royce of tablets. Very smooth and robust its lightning quick response time is amazing. The slim line styling and bright dislplay definitely makes it a contender with the 10in. tablets. I highly doubt anyone would be disappointed with this tablet. I have the original tab as well and I still love it. This one beats it hands down and the screen capture feature is priceless. Where else can you go online find a picture you like and take a screen shot of it and use it as a wallpaper. I love this tablet and you will too!!!!!
Can't say enough about this tablet! I literally use it every day. Can't think of a single downside to it. I was thinking iPad, but since Apple doesn't make a 7", I researched and got the Tab Plus. Everything from reading books (mostly Kindle), playing games, surfing the net, listening to tunes, watching movies, etc. Perfect size, just fits in your hand. Screen is vivid, clear and bright. Took me a little while to learn that I had to use KIES, the app that Samsung made for transferring files from a Mac to the Tab. Once we got that established, I'm 100% happy with it. Love the expandability and performance. Best deal out there, A home run!
