A lovely unit - I've tried the 10.1 inch but the 7 inch is easier to hold while still having the screen size needed for readability and functionality. Was wanting to use this to replace my notebook I normally use to check email and play Ikariam. Key layout is great with a number of options including normal QWERTY and the Samsung style. Ease of use is 10/10 and very user friendly. Music and video use - 10 out of 10 with great screen definition. For normal the CPU keeps up however when using a browser (Firefox, Opera etc) it has trouble coping. I normally have 5 tabs open - Gmail, a search engine, 2 x Ikariam and EBay - and the response is slow. Tried clearing the cache and a number of browsers but still the same problem. Slow response and sometime freezes. I have a Samsung Galaxy phone and it never freezes. Have gone now back to my Samsung Netbook which, while not as fast as my notebook, has the speed needed to operate 5 tabs in Firefox. In summing up; Size: 10/10 Graphics: 10/10 Portability: 10/10 Battery: 10/10 User friendliness: 10/10 CPU and page loading speed: 6.5/10 (sorry) Overall rating: 8.5/10Read full review
I bought this tablet mostly to read school assignments and books on the go. I originally bought a seven inch tablet but felt dissatisfied with the size. 8.9 inches is the perfect size really. My documents are fully displayed, true to the original paper format. I love nearly everything about this tablet. There is one drawback though, there is no external expansion or microsd card slot. I havent run into a storage problem yet, but i like knowing that I have extra space. Despite this, i would definitely buy this product again.
I couldn't be happier with this purchase,i hardly use my computer since buying this tablet. The size and weight are perfect as far as i am concerned. The picture quality is pristine and the color very sharp.I found it very easy to use and I'm not too great on using the computer in general. It came with a blue-tooth case and key board which my son uses more than I do because he is disabled.I just like leaving it in the case for protecting the tablet. In any case the blue-tooth keyboard works great for him. The speed is better than my computer both for downloading and just changing sites. All of the items listed were accounted for and came looking brand new. If I had to list a complaint it would be not being able to view flash on the internet.
It's not as user friendly as I had expected. I'm still trying to figure out how to pull up the pics I have saved for viewing. The battery life is fantastic, but typing and clicking links on websites like Facebook is delayed. Also, you have to touch slightly above what you're selecting, otherwise something else will be highlighted & pulled up. Frustrating to say the least.
I have a Galaxy Tab 2 7, so i was familiar with the interface and the quality and brightness of the display. The 8.9 is a along the same lines, with a few differences in the interface, perhaps because of a newer Android version. I did not bother to check what version of Android, but very similar. Cannot really determine if it is faster, or better, but it must be? The only thing that I do not like, no SD Card reader? Because of this I will keep my Galaxy Tab 2, and may give this to my brother :-(
