Sage XP 7100-4 Fly Rod 

Up for auction is a used Sage 7100-4 XP. The rod is ten feet in length and is a 7 weight. The Sage XP was at the time Sage’s top end fast action fly rod. The XP is still a favorite among the fly fishing community and is still sought after by many a fanatic, who consider this rod to be the best ever. The XP was replaced around 6 years ago by the Z-Axis then again by the One about 5 months ago. The XP 7100 has a nickname of “the original switch rod” as it is a bit longer in length and had handle spey casts and excels at roll casts. The extra foot in length compared to a 9 foot rod is that your mending capabilities and ability to sling fly lines are greatly enhanced. We like this rod here in the Pacific Northwest for our steelhead rivers but is a great streamer rod for big browns in Montana or for the lake anglers who are pursuing leviathans in the deep.

The condition of the rod is good. The fighting butt and cork are in good shape with minor “pockets” and chips. Reel seal looks excellent and works as it should. The finish of the rod has a few scratches but zero cracks. All wraps look great and the amber color thread shows through the epoxy leaving you a very cool looking color contrast to the forest green blank color. All guides and tip top are secure and free of tarnishing.

This is a fantastic rod at very good price. Original rob tube and sock are included. There is no warranty card as this is a used rod. We appreciate you taking the time took look at this rod and feel free to ask any questions.
