I bought a Saeco Vienna deluxe about eight years ago, and it just started to have problems. I am a fix it kind of guy so I had ordered some parts for it, a grander assembley, and a pump. Not bad for everyday use by four people for eight years. It makes the best tasting coffee bar none. It grinds the beans (more on beans later); You can't use ground coffee you must use beans. It then lightly tampers the ground beans in Saeco’s patented brew assembly which is easily removable for cleaning. I wash it out in soppy water in the sink about once a week. You can buy a brew group key for around $9.99 it doesn’t come with most models and about every 90 days take the brew group screens out and really clean them; the holes in them are the size of a needle. And that’s how easy it is to care for. There are two knobs in the bean hopper, one to adjust the grind of the bean from fine to coarse depending on personal taste and the beans you are using. This adjustment must be made while the grinder is working. The other knob is a water adjustment to fine tune the water as it is pressed though the grounds. It also has an adjustment knob right on the front to dispense the amount of water put in the cup. That way you can go from a cappuccino to a regular cup of coffee with a turn of the knob. It will deliver a personal cup of coffee for each person that knows how to use it. And when guest are over just ask them how they like their coffee and adjust it to their taste. I did buy a new Vienna Plus which is basically a newer model of the Deluxe. Gave the one I fixed to my daughter for the next eight years. I know when you are shopping these can seem a little pricey but how many $30.00 to $50.00 coffee pots can one go through in eight years? It’s easy to maintain, very well made, and delivers a great cup of coffee in any form. I will always own one. It is one of my simple pleasures in life. Now a little about beans vs. ground coffee; The F.D.A. regulations allow coffee producers to sell ground coffee that has to be at least 70% coffee by weight. It makes one wonder what might be in the other 30%,ground bugs, rodent excrement, and stems may be just a few things. I haven’t drank ground coffee for years. No one can go wrong with this machine.Read full review
I love it. I have made thousands of cups of coffee with one machine. Real Italian Espresso lovers complain the espresso is not strong enough (they like thick mud and foam). Otherwise good machine. Its been reliable but tough to get it serviced if it needs parts though. I like the fact Ican buy my own coffee beans from wherever and put them in machine. Its not dedicated to a pod system. JB

I am comparing this to the very similar looking Vienna Deluxe, the fully automated coffeemaker what I did have for ten years. This coffeemaker is virtually the same, and looks very similar and works the same with at least one exception; the grinder. The grinder cannot be adjusted to the same fine coffee as the Vienna Deluxe. The adjustments look exactly the same, I use the same coffee but the coffee even the finest grinding position is not good enough. You note this simply when you test is between your fingers the grinded coffee. Still, it is a good coffee maker and would recommend to buy it. If you clean it and keep it up then you can have a good use for long time to come. My Vienna Deluxe, which I did use 4-5 times a day for minimum ten years, still in 100% perfect working condition, but I thought to better have a new one. I am not sorry for spending the $ for this one. As always; the coffee maker cannot be too good if the coffee is not good, and therefore, do not buy it from the grocery store. On the Internet you can find Segafredo and Lavazza coffee. Never use top-water (especially if you live in California)and I even put the water through a filter into the water-tank. De-scaling is a must in every three months. I do wash the brewer unit weekly (a one minute job, but the descaling takes almost an hour). It is not a Jura (a Swiss $4K coffee maker) but you could be satisfied with this one.Read full review
What's not to love with this Saeco Vienna Plus Espresso Machine! It grinds the beans, brews the coffee, discharges the grounds. So easy and simple to use! I love it and use it every day!

What's not to love? You put in the beans and water and it does the rest, including cleaning itself. My Vienna deluxe just broke so I thought I would upgrade to a semiautomatic that did everything for you, including the milk. I purchased a Delonghi Magnifica for $1200.00 and I was so disappointed. The grinder jammed after the first cup. I ran out and had my Vienna repaired for $200.00 and returned the Delonghi. I love the flexibility of more or less milk that you can't get with an automatic preprogrammed machine.
