Up For Sale Is a RARE FIRST EDITION of Moby Dick from 1851!!! Arguably the greatest American Novel EVER, and the ultimate addition to any collector's library. An item like this is more than just a book, it is a piece of American History. Published in New York by Harper and Brothers, this book was made even rarer when a fire destroyed almost all of the unsold copies in stock. ALL PAGES ARE PRESENT and everything about this book is original. As for condition, there is some general wear and tear you would expect for a book that is over 150 years old. There is also some foxing throughout (see photos) which does get better further into the book. Some pages are better than others, but text is easily legible. There is also some overall wear to the corners of the boards and the spine, which is also seen in the photos. This book sells online from from anywhere between $30,000 to $85,000, and is almost always in the more common bindings. That makes this the chance of a lifetime for any serious book collector.
