STUNNING Pearl Grandfather Clock w/ Hermle West German Movement 1980
Clock is in very good-excellent physical condition. There is a very small knick on the top left corner in the front about 1/4" in size. There is a spot on the back of the door that appears to have some glue residue left behind by a partly removed piece of tape or sticker or something. There are also a couple of light scratches on the brass face that are easily missed if you are not looking for them. Aside from that there are some very very tiny chips/scratches/etc. that are typical of any used item (Stated for description accuracy). It appears to keep time relatively well. The center weight and chain need to be reset (Just supporting the weight and gently pulling the other end of the chain to bring it back up to the top) every seven days to keep it going as opposed to needing a key and winding it. Also I have not tested them, but I am told the chimes work but do occasionally stop sporadically.
Clock features an incredibly detailed Brass face with a blue colored portion above it that displays the Moon and Stars and rotates fully every 29 1/2 days. It also has three chimes that are named as follows: Westminster, St. Michael's, and Whittington. It also has a silent option.
There are some markings on the movement inside the case that I tried to photograph but could not get to come out clear enough to read. The top says "80" Which means the clock was made in 1980. Underneath that is as follows: (I will just list in the order it appears seperated by quotes) "Pearl Grandfather Clock" "Memphis/Tenn." "No (0) Jewels" "Unadjusted" "Made in West Germany" "1151-050H" "114cm/60.cc (The first c is backwards)".
I know the "1150/050H" Notates that the movement is made by Hermle. The rest that is not self explanatory I am unsure of. There is also " AS12781" written on the back as well as inside in pencil. I do not know what this means, but I think it is from a previous clocksmith/servicing.
I tried to show as much detail as possible in the photographs. O aslo have a couple more photos of the face that I could send to a proper e-mail address as there are no further slots to add photos to this listing, and eBay does not have an attachment option on the contact member/reply option.
Clock also comes with original owners manual/instructions. The instruction booklet does have some rips/tears/stains/hand writing/etc. typical of use and age.
Clock measures approximately:
Overall: 75" Tall x 17" Wide x 9 1/2" Thick
Clock Face: 13 1/4" Tall x 9" Wide
