This is a most excellent historic old two-tier Knight Templars Cross Jewel. It is very well made in Rhode Island for a landmark Pennsylvania Commandery. The Jewel is in very good vintage condition with only minor age wear. A far cry from the nice but worn down Templar jewelry of inferior quality one frequently encounters. This is a solid, strong piece. The upper tier features a nicely detailed image of Saint George slaying the Dragon. It has a very Baroque look to it. This item is Silver in colour. We must emphasize that we are not jewelers and do not know anything about the silver content of this piece. And we have no time to go and have pieces tested. Often unmarked, we see such jewels and badges in the old catalogues described as being either silver-plated or silver. As to this beauty, we have no idea if it has real silver in it or if it is a sparkling silver coloured metal of some kind. We can assure you that it is a splendid antique relic either way. Our Jewel measures around 2¾ inches in total length. A decorative memento of American Freemasonry. We regularly feature extremely attractive and also very rare, top quality antiques including among the finest in Fraternal and Masonic Swords and Historic Relics as well as many other fascinating items. Among our clients are Museums and Archives as well as many collectors the world over. The maker here is the great Rhode Island based jeweler, E. L. Logee. As far as jewelry is concerned, Logee was as fine and important as any of the great sword makers (who themselves also ventured into jewelry) such as “The Ames Sword Company”, “M. C.
