This is a great product made by Samsung before they sold their hard drive division to Seagate. I wouldn't trust anything made by Seagate including Samsung, after they were acquired. If it has a Samsung and a Seagate product number on it, it's probably no good. If it only has a Samsung number on it, then it's an original. Seagate has since made the Samsung hard drives with inferior quality, cheaper materials, lower standards, and are usually worthless after a short time. Seagate will crash and burn because of this! Shame on them!
This drive in reality is a Seagate Barracuda Green branded as Samsung (coz they own them now) and made in China. Seagate was lately known for low quality HDD's. In general, 2TB HDD's are more prone to quality issues that 1TB drives. I've run HDD Pro test on this new HDD drive because I had a problem copying files to it. It found read scan errors and 2 blocks at the beginging of the drive damaged (failed read test). This is not good for a new drive. Having read scan errors on a new drive increases its failure rate in the next 18 months by a factor of 2. Very disappointed. I have some old WD drives in my systems still working after 3 years of moderate use without any read scan errors.
Going to use this to Mod my origin Xbox. It is not the fastest HDD in the world but is going to be way faster then the old Xbox.

This hard drive is amazing! It is efficient, silent, and works without issues....Can't expect anything less from Samsung I guess.
purchased for the purpose of backup drive and it is meeting my goal. great hard drive. works good with full capacity and experienced no issues so far.
