Each year, Magic players from across the globe take the high seas on the annual Magic Cruise. This year, longtime organizer Steve Port handed the reigns over to some dedicated fans... but due to some slight miscalculations, there ended up being some extra hidden costs that they hadn't factored into planning. To raise money to ensure the cruise goes smoothly, each of the Magic Cruise VIPs is providing an item or service to auction off - both as an awesome souvenir of the experience and as a way to support fun activities like the Magic Cruise going forward!
Richard Garfield, creator of Magic: the Gathering and well-known game designer, will work with you on a game of your own design! The winner of this auction will send Richard a game prototype, which he will then play and provide you with detailed feedback. Richard will spend three hours total with the winner and his/her game - two hours for play and critique, including a written review with recommendations on the game design, and then one additional hour for conversation over phone/Skype. During the conversation, he will talk through the feedback and do Q&A with you on your game or any other topic of your choice. If you are attending Magic Cruise 2012, you have the option to hand-deliver your prototype to Richard on the cruise and receive feedback in person. However, if you are not attending the cruise or do not bring your prototype along, you are responsible for paying any subsequent shipping and communication costs. Richard lives in Seattle, WA. |
