Up for auction is this beautiful restored Emerson SIX blade oscillating wlectric fan. This is the second of two Emerson six blades that I havve available for sale. Double signed; with both the brass "Emerson" tag on the front of the cage and a brass nameplate on the top of the motor assembly. Brass tag reads: "EMERSON - The Emerson Electric Mfg. Co. New York - St. Louis - Volts 110 - Cycles 60 - Type 27666 - No. A301160 - Made in the United States of America for alternating current - Patented - NP196."
This antique electric fan has been completely restored and is fully functional. It stands 18 inches tall and 14 inches wide. The fan has a 4 position slide switch in the base offering 3 speeds (Although like the other one, "Slow" and "Medium" speeds seem to be similiar).
This fan was completely disassembled and was stripped down to bare metal. The motor was restored, and the bearings repacked. There is slight paint bubbling here and there, but otherwise the fan is in excellent condition! The brass blades are clean and shiny. The black metal cage has no bends, breaks or loss. The felt on the underside of the base, and the power cord has been replaced.
Emerson fans were of the finest quality...they made heavy cast iron bodies and oversize motors that worked quietly and efficiently. The six blade models are especially desirable due to their ability to move air. With a minimum amount of care, this fine fan will keep you cool for years to come!
These fans were constructed in the early twenties for the ventilation of large rooms and were designed for 24/7 service with only the periodic addition of oil to the fan motor.
This and the other fans that I will be offering in coming weeks are from the collection of a long time fan enthusiast and restorer.
S/I/T in the U.S. is estimated at $50.00, due to the fan's size and weight, but the winning bidder will be charged actual shipping and insurance charges, either up or down from the estimate. Great overseas rates as well. Please ask all questions before bidding. A nice addition to your collection, offered at a no reserve.
