If you never tried this fly trap before, you should but just one and see how it works. Don't confuse this one with the type that is sold at Lowes for the same price. There is no comparison. When it is full, it can contain as many as 5000 flies in my opinion. A few down sides though. You must put it as far away from your home as possible. The smell can get pretty bad. Especially in the hot weather. And it is gross when it is full. I try to replace mine every 4 days in peak fly season. And you have to remember that you are breaking the cycles of flies and maggots, and in a short time you will notice a great reduction in flies. Another down side is the "closing" procedure. Instead of just snapping it closed, I have come to learn to use three pieces of strong duct tape to keep it closed. Read full review

Bought 2 of these for my moms as they have a cow barn across the road from them and the flys are all over their house, both barns , all over the property basically. The white trim for the porch and windows all have little black dots from the flys and you couldn't do much out side with out dealing with the fly issue . Sprays didnt help treating the yard to get rid of rhe flys , so i bought these to try. All you need is pair of scissors, piece of string, wire or even weedeater line ( i used the weedeater line as i have a bunch of it and was easy to get to ) to hang this with. You dont want to place this close to the house as once you add the water it reacts with the bait inside to smell like decaying animal and attract the flys. It wont stink for little while till the bait finishes reacting with the water then it really will stink . They work good to .. we have 2 barns besides the house so we put 1 at each end of the property at each barn . Read full review

This is Inexpensive and easy to use, just add water. Stinks a bit as it gets filled with flies so you want to place it away from you. I use three of them around my chicken coop and they just keep filling up with flies. I’m not sure if the smell and dead flies attract more flies but they are not flying around as much like they used to. I will continue to purchase these.

If you have fly problems, please buy this product. My Dad is now 74, and his favorite thing to do is sit on the back deck. It got to the point where we couldn't do this anymore because the flies were so bad. These traps, which I bought for my father, have made an unbelievable difference. Because of these traps, our family has been able to take our backyard back. They are highly effective.
