I am excited to offer these Z axes couplers that are a perfect fit from your 5mm stepper motor shafts to your 5/16 or 8mm threaded rods, they are universal. This eliminates one of my bugaboos with the Reprap as printed couplers just don't work well for this critical part. If you want higher print resolutions then parts that are directly interfacing with fine printer action have to be worked out, if your couplers are slipping because of set screws being partially stripped or allowing the Z axes to have play in it then you will always be plagued with parts that partially print then go south on you costing you valuable printer filament and time wasted printing a failed part. This coupler has been a problem from the get go as printed parts are fine for what they are capable of, but there are some parts a printed part just fall way short of giving you that extra edge to tune that machine for higher resolution prints, not as rough, and a better overall finished product with less headaches your having to chase down. This is a part every RepRap needs to accomplish that goal. I have only 6 of these little jewels and I am keeping 2 for myself, so right now only 4 available to the first to grab em up. I bought 6 to try out and these are it. They feature 2- 2.5mm hex Allen head set screws to positively grab those shafts and hold em tight without slipping or a need to grind down flat spots in your stepper shafts. They also feature a spiral cut making these babies act like a flexible shaft so that if your rod and stepper shafts are not perfectly aligned this compensates for that, all in all these couplers are a God send and will do wonders for your builds and machines you already have built. I am so impressed with these I am going to put in another order but may take awhile to get them so be patient if you miss out on the previous stock.
