Rectangle English Oak Barley Twist Scalloped Edge Occasional End Table Antique

This is a true classic. It is a English oak occasional table that has a rectangular shaped top with scalloped edges and barley twist legs. The top of the table has tapered corners that give it a unique look and appeal.  You don't see many tables with a top in this shape.  It measures 23 1/2 inches wide and 17 inches deep. It stands 28 inches tall. This table is in great condition.  It looks like this table was completely taken apart and refinished.  It was refinished in a mahogany color stain and it really looks like mahogany when you look at it.  It does appear to be made from English oak it just has a red tint to the stain. It came from a shipment of English antiques I purchased. This is a great display item for any collector or decorator. It appears to be good old vintage quality construction. I don't know the exact age. I've tried to take a number of pictures so that you can judge for yourself it's age and value.

ABOUT MARDI GRAS DOUBLOONS

For those of you who dont know, Mardi Gras doubloons are brightly colored aluminum coins about the size of a silver dollar. They are 1 1/2 inches in diameter. They were thrown by Krewe members from Mardi Gras floats. Doubloons usually have the symbol of the Krewe on the front along with the date the Krewe was organized, the back side usually has the theme for that years parade as well as the date. Each Krewe may have a number of different doubloons for each years parade. Usually the silver ones are the most common, followed by a range of colors from red to gold. Some Krewes mint real bronze, silver and even gold doubloons, however these are very rare and seldom put up for sale. Many Mardi Gras doubloons are fairly rare outside of New Orleans, and many are rare even in the city. They make great inexpensive yet unique collectibles or gifts.
