![]() RARE VINTAGE 1964 GUILD D-40 PLEASE CALL US TOLL FREE FOR AN IN-HAND DESCRIPTION 1-800-800-0087 Description: Rare, vintage 1964 Guild D-40 dreadnought acoustic guitar
made in Hoboken, NJ. This is one of the earliest Guild dreadnoughts
we've ever had & is second-year production for this particular
model. Cosmetic Condition: Good, honest wear with a cool vintage vibe! Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; some finish wear & light weather checking; surface scratches & light buckle rash on the back of the body. There is a repaired crack in the top between the pickguard & bridge. Overall the guitar displays a warm, golden patina & a nice, broken-in look. Neck: Mahogany neck with beautiful, dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & pearloid dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but still have plenty of life in them. Grover nickel tuners in perfect working condition. 1 3/4" nut width - small chip in the nut on the treble side. 25 1/2" scale length. Body: Solid spruce top with solid mahogany back & sides. Multiple top & back binding. Brazilian rosewood bridge has been reglued. Compensated bone saddle with some room for height adjustment. Tortoise-style pickguard. Set Up: Professionally set up by our guitar tech & strung with brand new Martin med-gauge Phosphor Bronze strings. Playability / Sound: Nice action; neck plays & feels good - very comfortable; gorgeous tone - very warm & rich sounding. Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included.
