This auction is for the rare vintage Ao Rei Dos Violoes Limitada guitar shown in our photographs which is being sold as a project or player as is guitar. From what we have been able to find out it appears this guitar was manufactured by Tonante before they actually started using the company name Tonante.
We took lots of photographs so it would be easy for you to make a decision on whether you would like to own this item or not.
The guitar has some damage around the sound hole. The cracks are contained around the sound hold and no supports inside appear to have been damaged.
The guitar does not appear to have been played very much.
The neck is quite wide. It measures approximately 2 1/2" across the center of the 12th. fret and 2" across the center of the first fret.
The guitar is approximately 40" in length with the widest part of the guitar being approximately 15".
It has been stored away in a climate controlled area, detuned so there would be no pressure on the neck or body, for many years. We gently tuned the first 4 strings and they seemed to be tuning up ok but we did not want to break any of the strings so we detuned them again. It does have a deep, rich sound.
We believe this guitar was manufactured in Brazil.
