This is a very rare early 1980's vintage LEDUC BD3 5 string fretless bass guitar, serial number BD3 SC 411 B. Built in France by luthier Christophe Leduc, Leduc basses are played by some of the world's best: Marcus Miller, Abraham Laboriel, Dominique Dipiazza, Aboubas Coulibaly, Sylvin Marc, Jesus Gabaldon, Andre Manga. This is an exceptionally well made instrument that plays beautifully and sounds fantastic. Aside from the surface dings & blemishes one expects to find with a professional instrument of this vintage, it is in excellent shape.

* There is extensive checking/crazing in the finish, and the milled  bronze parts (the bridge & knobs) are no longer shiny.

* The strap button appears to have been shifted from it's original position on the back, to the inside of the bass side cutaway, the upshot being a small hole where the button used to be.

* While this is a fretless bass, it has inlaid wooden fret markers.

* Another unique feature is the raised "shelf" above the pickups, which was likely meant to act as a brace for the players' right hand.

* The color scheme was called "Overseas" a gradation from very dark blue/black to a lighter blue.

The buyer will pay the actual shipping costs, which will be calculated by weight (approximately 20 lbs)  and the buyer's location. Ebay shows a flat shipping fee of $26.00 for this item, but that is erroneous; in the continental U.S., you can expect  the shipping to cost around $75.00.

WE will  periodically  reduc  (got it)? the price until it sells   Cheers and good luck Tom
