RARE 1870's ANTIQUE JAPANESE BOTTLE & 6 CUPS THE HINODE PORCELAIN FIGURE SAKI JUG w/CUPS This auction is for what I believe to be a Saki decanter in a powder blue color decorated with daisies. The bottle stands 7 3/8" tall and the cups are 1 3/4" tall. The bottle has crazing with no chips or cracks. Three of the cups have flaws: 1 has a flea bite 1 has two flea bites 1 has a big chip The damage can be see in the picture #7 of the three cups. The bottle has a back stamp 'The Hinode' & Japan. The cups are back stamped 'Made in Japan'. My online research indicates that Hinode was an importer in New York City from 1876 - 1879 for Morimura-Kumi and later the Morimuras and the Okuras. I have found nothing comparable to this set in form of the powder blue bottle in the likeness of maybe 'little Bo Peep'. The bottom of the bottle shows lots of age discoloration around the edges. I welcome any feedback to my description as I am not an expert in antiques from Japan. I purchased this item from a local estate. Please examine the pictures in order to see the condition of the item. I will be happy to combine shipping costs for any multiple purchases whenever possible. Items may be picked up at my home in Lexington Kentucky. The picture provided may be larger than the actual item. Please message me with any questions or concerns.
