This is a great mic stand and very affordable. I would recommend this to anyone who looking to save some money but also enjoy a great piece of equipment. :)

Unfortunately, this mic stand only just cuts it and nothing more. It appears that it will last a long time and the clutch seems good - definitely a positive. I haven't used it long enough to see if the critical parts will be durable. But aside from that - 1- the stand is extremely difficult to screw into the base. As others have noted in reviews I've seen, part of this problem is because there is paint in the threads on the base (should have tapped the hole after painting), but even with grease to lubricate the parts, I just could not thread the stand in more than halfway. 2- the three hard rubber pads on the bottom of the base are not sufficient to keep it from tipping when a boom is attached, even when not fully extended and only holding a light mic (such as a Sure SM57). Maybe the pads are too tall and maybe the base should have some secondary nubs in between the pads to help stabilize it at more than three points (as the flatter, lower profile bases have always had). So, is it a good value? - I suppose so for $21 and free shipping, but even a cheap stand should be built properly. Is it enjoyable? - I suppose, as long as I don't ruin any microphones, as I almost did when it fell over. Do I recommend it? - I don't think so, unless a person's priority is the cheapest bang for the buck. I couldn't rate these questions simply yes or no.Read full review

Just right for the range tall short š

Lightweight. Tips over easily. The cast iron base is hollow, so it's actually not very heavy and will tip over pretty easily. *Warning: Do not attach a heavy mic!* Cannot recommend it. Not worth it.

I got this for Karaoke, and I had considered the other models with the easily adjustable plastic clutch. I heard the plastic clutches sometimes failed, so I went with this Proline with metal clutch. Everything seems to be metal. Stand weighs 8 pounds overall, base is about 7 pounds. Don't know why I'd ever want/need a more expensive stand.
