POLARA ACCURACY GOLF BALLS - MORE FORGIVENESS, MORE FUN
Golf is definitely one of the most difficult sports out there. Think about it... Hit this tiny white ball 500 yards into a hole which is not much
larger than the ball itself. Seriously? Well, we can't help but love or even be addicted to the wonderfully difficult game of golf. With that in
mind we wanted to make a ball that works with, not against the recreational golfer. So what makes the perfect ball? Distance, control, forgiveness,
and workability are all key assets and that's where we started when designing Polara accuracy golf balls.
WORKING WITH BETTER INGREDIENTS
The secret behind our self correcting antislice golf ball technology is all in the dimple pattern. Our accuracy golf balls have shallower
dimples around the equator and deeper dimples on each pole. When a Polara golf ball is flying in its preferred orientation with the alignment
arrow pointing directly towards the target (this orientation is also known as “poles horizontal” or PH) the Polara ball exhibits significantly
lower lift (and lower drag as well) than a normal golf ball. This reduction in lift translates directly into a reduction of the force tending
to cause the ball to curve from a straight trajectory, resulting in a hook or slice.
The Polara’s unique dimple pattern also results in a moment of inertia (MOI) asymmetry. By creating an antislice golf ball with a dimple
pattern that has less dimple volume in a band around the equator and by removing more dimple volume from the polar regions adjacent to the
low-dimple-volume band, the weight distribution of the ball is modified and the resulting ball exhibits an MOI difference between the
poles-horizontal (PH) and other orientations. This results in a “preferred” spin axis going through the poles of the ball. This phenomenon is
similar to the preferred spin axis of a gyroscope. This preferred spin-axis tends to reduce hooks or slices when the golf ball is struck in a
manner which would normally cause “side-spin” or tilting of the spin-axis.
These two factors, lower lift and a preferred spin-axis, results in the Polara accuracy golf balls flying significantly straighter than any
other ball on the market when hit with a hook or slice-inducing swing.
Hitting the golf ball straight is obviously a huge part of the game. We've come up with a patented dimple pattern which results in up to 75%
reduction in hooks and slices, improving your golf game, making the game even more enjoyable.
BALL FLIGHT DISPERSION
Of course when you’re
talking about straight golf balls, the bottom line is…well…how straight they go relative to the competition. Polara continuously compares our
antislice golf ball's flight with the industry leaders to make sure the Polara accuracy golf ball performs up to our high standards and as
ne of the ways we characterize our ball’s performance is by using a golf ball hitting robot so we can make sure that we are applying the
identical swing time after time.
The chart below shows one of our latest product tests. The robot was set-up to hit a 95 mile-per-hour slice swing and 4 different golf balls
were tested. As can be seen below the results are dramatic and conclusive. Two leading competitors, shown in blue and yellow, can be seen
slicing significantly to the right by a good 80 feet. Our Ultimate Straight and XD balls are shown in red and orange and can be seen to be much
straighter, slicing only about 21 feet and 42 feet, respectively.
