The PSV has got many good things and bad things When i got my vita I modded it and modding a psv is fairly easy and thanks to that i was able to play : GBA SNES GENESIS perfectly and also it can play psv psp and ps1 perfectly as well Good things Easy to mod and the modding has no consequences It can play alot of retro games well Its portable You can use the Bluetooth function to use a ps4 controller The battery life is between 5-6 hours and it might be more or less (depends on your use) The buttons are very clicky and nice feeling Bad things To increase storage you either buy an expensive psv memory card (they dont hold much data You can use a micro sd card but you will have to mod psv to fully use it and you will require an adapter and using the adapter will occupy your game card slot (not a big issue) The psv misses 4 standard controller buttons being the R2 R3 L2 and L3 The psv will be uncomfortable at first took me a while untill i got adjusted to hold it (a few days) and my thumb started hurting after some play session with the D-PAD (but it will eventually like 2 days will stop to do that so its ok) To mod a psv you require to have some internal storage so if you have a PCH-1000 you will have to buy a psv memory card since you cant use the sd card before system gets modded (if you have the PCH-2000 like i do you dont need to buy a psv memory card because the system has 1GB of memory) Notes The PSV charges fast and uses the sane charger as the ps4 controllers so if you have a ps4 then you can buy a psv with the concole only deals because you will be able to charge it with your ps4 The screen is great and overall if you mod this system you can do alot with it and its fairly cheap to do so You can fix most of the issues with modding Like the uncomfortable or controler missing buttons with a ps4 controler Or the space with micro sd and play alot of older systems that play beautifully with retroarch I love playing gba snes genesis and the few working n64 games on this (I believe you can also hook up the vita with a computer or tv) The vita has a big supporting community in terms of modding so it will probably keep getting better So in the end I recommend buying the system most of its issues are temporary or fixed with the easy modding and even without modding it has a good library of games and is still fun.Read full review

Good product, battery keep up much longer then on 1000s series, but display slightly worse then on 1000s series. For home use i recommend use 1000s series, but for outdoor use i recommend use Slim version.

The Vita is quite a good console to use despite its age. My main issue with it however is the somewhat lackluster catalauge of titles, especially when it comes to Sony's first-party studios, who only released a of couple games. There are a couple of gems here and there though. Once it's modded though, that's when the console really opens up. You can play PS1 titles, abandon the proprietary storage, download Homebrew, etc.
