Audio did not work on cable TV input. Tried everything from settings to new cables. Had picture but no sound and I have two other of this same model receiver for years so I know how to hook it up and use it.

This is a fine receiver for what it is. Like others have said, it seems a bit underpowered, but that is also related to how efficient your speakers are. In my small room, it fills it ok, but I'm usually running in the -10 to -20dB range for "normal" listening. But if I want it loud, I'm pushing it to its max. I got it for the I/O count. I still have a lot of legacy composite and S-video devices. I could have used more (this was my minimum). Being an older model, it looks like they just obsoleted it on the control app. I also do control systems, and am still having problems connecting. As others have said, the network control app has connection issues. No, it's not my home WiFi network - everything else stays connected just fine. This is the only devices that drops connections frequently. And this is hardwired from the receiver to the router. But when we AirPlay, it seems to stay connected. Perhaps it's just the control app. I had a problem when I received it in that a daughter board had come loose so I had no sound. Re-seated all the boards and it's worked fine ever since. The sound is Pioneer. Wish I could have afforded an Onkyo or Denon, but not in my budget. Also wish I had pre-amp outs, but again, not for the price. The AirPlay works as expected. The HMG for anything else is clumsy (as most are). I push content from my computer into the S/PDIF and that works great. I was able to push content with All Share from my Samsung player - but it's no where near as easy as AirPlay.Read full review
It sounds very good, but only on stereo mode, when put it on surround mode, the volume goes very low on the fromt speakers, so I'm not sure if it is a normal feature, anyway, i like the fact that I can play music directly from the memory stick on the usb and also that you can control the Aple devices, and that it also charge the devices while playing. The only thing that is weird is that I turn it off and it turn on by itself and I know we don't have ghosts at home!!!!
It’s a great stereo with a lot of power. This is my second purchase of this system. I have one in the living room and now one in my garage. I use Klipsch tower speakers one and Sony tower speakers on the other one. Both sound great!
