There are plenty of universal remotes to pick from. Why I've used the Pronto for a number of years is that you have the option of totally customizing & configure it to fit your idea of how a remote should work--use your own graphics, add macros wherever you want--or not. It can be a total blank sheet of paper to do with as you wish or you can stick with the Philip's interface. I like to be able to do my thing, not be locked into some rigid format. What makes the 7000 superior to the models that came before it are both the color graphics and the more versatile commands that it offers. If you want something super simple, there are better choices. If you want something that you can make just the way you want, there is nothing else quite like the Pronto. With Philips ceasing production of the Pronto and more and more people using smart phones for remotes, get a Pronto while you can--there will probably never be anything like it again.Read full review

If you are an entertainment addict this is the remote for you. Everything you want...RF IR and programable. All this in a nifty sleek package. Before this unit I had the TSU600. Philips simply make the best remotes on the market.
