I will not ship this, but will help with delivery or pick up. The set is located 5 miles over the G.W. bridge in N.J. right off route 4.
Up for auction is a nice Philco Predicta tv set from the late 1950's
The tv works and I remember watching it a couple of years ago before we were switched over to the digital only signal. I remember the picture would get either a little smaller or a little bigger after about a half hour or so, and the settle there. The power switch was bypassed by the guy I bought it from and has a switch on the cord.
I am selling this as a working tv, but like most, you should have it checked out if you want it to be perfect.
These look so cool just sitting there, but are really cool when they work.
I am going to describe the condition so there are no misunderstandings, but I want you to know, this is not a piece of junk. I believe most people don't mention enough in the descriptions, and things look better in pictures.
There is paint loss and some light rust areas on the red case(not too bad at all) the white perf grill area looks a little dirty, and the brass colored metal has pitting. One of the small brass colored caps is missing, and I think you can get them on the internet cheap. The back cover is in really great shape. The antenna is still there. Most of these tv's have these flaws, unless they were fully restored. The screen has a few very light scratches that could come off with polish and one that may not, that is outside the viewing area. This Predicta is in above average condition (for an original un-restored unit), plus it still works.
There are no dents, so you could easily strip and repaint this like a lot of people seem to be doing.
Thanks for looking and I will be listing an almost new looking RCA from the same era that works. I also have a 1950's Zenith console in great shape that lights up and makes noise.
Please ask questions before bidding if you're unsure about any details.
