Well, let's be honest. I bought the Pfaff creative vision 5.5 new from a dealer with the embroidery arm, the luggage carrier & all the different hoops & feet. Took lots of classes & the darn thing drove me nuts. It spent most of it's time being repaired. It constantly broke the thread when embroidering. Out of the different classes I took, 90% of the ladies who bought this machine, had their machine replaced by Pfaff. After 2 years of shear agony, I wrote the company & told them that I was seeking legal advice. They had all the records of the repairs & times they had my machine. A few days later, my dealer called & they had a new machine for me. They tried to talk me into the new Pfaff. I just couldn't see it. Today, I do love my current new machine, it works well as far as sewing is concerned. However, the embroidery portion still sucks. Breaks threads right & left. I never use it. I have a Babylock 6 needle. It's way, way better than the Pfaff for machine embroidery. So, make sure that if you buy one of these older Creative Visions you are not getting one of the many, many lemons available on the market. I believe they had big time problems with their computer mother boards. They would not retain the correct settings. (That's what the dealer told me, who knows). They also had to replace the tension mechanism & the feed dogs. There was a design flaw in the tension mechanism. The feed dogs wore out too quickly, with very little use. I know several owners that Pfaff replaced them for free. Sadly, the Creative Vision was originally a poorly manufactured machine with lots & lots of problems. If I had a do over, I'd skip the Pfaff & buy a Baby Lock Ellissimo. Many less problems overall & does even more than the same things.Read full review
I was looking for an embroidery machine and had done a lot of research of all the new models currently out. The pricing can be very high for these machines (upwards of 10 to $11,000), by the time you add in software. So I decided to look into the models the newest ones were replacing. These are the Pfaff Creative Vision 5.0 & 5.5. I am an avid sewer, but brand new to embroidery. After spending a couple of hours reading the owners manual I was all set to try it out. I sewed a couple of strips of fabric together and went right to the embroidery (I don't have a lot of patients). Needless to say in less than 24 hours ownership of the machine I have several items I have embroidered. If you follow the owners manual you will be able to learn this machine on your own. I have a lot of sewing experience BUT I have never embroidered before nor have I owned a machine that is capable of embroidery (I was absolutely clueless). The quality is unbelievable. The LED lighting is amazing, you can adjust it to different color spectrums, so you see your threads actual color (as if your outside in the daylight). For the sewing portion of this machine, you can NOT beat the IDT system. It is basically a built in walking foot, truly no more uneven fabric feeding. It will absolutely amaze you. This model machine is a top of the line unit, even used they are NOT cheap! But if you are looking for a very high quality machine you will not be disappointed. I look forward to many good years of enjoyment from the machine.Read full review
I purchased the Creative Vision because of the machine's embroidery capabilities. The machine stitches beautifully and I am very pleased with the ease of operation. The owner's manual is well written and easy to use. I'm thrilled with the CV and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
Geat sewing machine. Looking forward to years of sewing with it. This is my third Pfaff and they have all been great. This one has even more featurs than my 2144. Especially the larger embroidery hoops.
Absolutely wonderful machine. I will really enjoy learning to sew on this machine. It is easy to use and has so many wonderful features.
