Peter Puck is an animated puck that explains the game in a fun and easy manner. Kids will love him and learn the finer points of hockey quickly and for those of us that where kids in the 70's, Peter will bring back some fond memories. My two boys have watched hockey but never understood the rules, no matter how much mom and dad explain, but after one time watching Peter, they know the rules and repeat them freely. This is an excellent DVD, a must have for the hockey enthusiast. Below is a list of whats on the DVD. I remember watching Peter Puck as a child. How cool is it that after 33 years on the shelf, the entire series is now available on DVD?!! When my disc arrived, I watched all the episodes with my friends, coworkers and my children. Those who knew about hockey learned even more and it's great for those who are just starting to follow the game. For me, it was a bit of nostalgia and a way to relive a fun part of my childhood. I highly recommend this DVD to anyone who grew up in the 1970's. The animation is vintage Hanna Barbera (Scooby Doo, Flintstones) and the writing is simple enough for the youngest of fans to understand.
Althought it's dated due to rule changes, the Peter Puck series is still a great way to learn the basics of the game. Seeing this again brought me back to my childhood, when while watching the NBC NHL Game of the Week, Peter was shown between periods, as well as "Shootout In The NHL". It helped a young player like myself, to understand the rules, and learn some of the history of a sport that I have now loved for 43 years. My brother also bought a copy of this DVD to show to my nephew, himself a young hockey player. I would love to see an updated version with the current rules, and history. For now, I'll enjoy what I have.
As good as quality as you can expect from a 1970's era cartoon. A must for any hockey fan 30 years or older. Younger fans may find it a bit cheesy or corny, but older fans that remember the original airings will enjoy it.
Great for kids! A lot of fun. A real classic. Rero Hockey cartoon Character never dies but keeps on going!
