Neat old antique telephone related collectible. I am certain they would not still be functionable but would be nice for display or collection purposes and should only be bought for display purposes. A pair of early 1900's No.6 Columbia Ignitor Dry Cell battery for general ignition manufactured by the National Carbon Co. Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio. Round with red paper over cardboard covering with nice Eagle image graphics. Patented September 6th, 1910. I am sure all looking are familiar with this early battery or dry cell that was used with the early crank telephones. Considering the material and age, they in pretty nice shape yet and would display niceley. Do have some typical light wear and chipping to paper covered carboard wrap along the top edges and a little overall wear and small spots of paper loss and some light discolorations, but I have seen much worse examples. Usually the acid discolors the paper heavily but these are not too bad but do have some darkening in places. They look to have a little swelling or bulging at bottom 1/4 area as is also typical of old dry cells. One of them has an area of some whitish residue, don't know if it is paint or what, on the back side that I am not going to try to remove for fear of making it worse. Fortunately the front is clean and would still display fine from the front. This one also must have a little more swelling as the joint or seam of the label is separated a bit and there is a little lifting in one small spot to the cardboard but also not visible from front viewing. One has both the original brass knurled knobs on the threaded posts on top and one is missing one of the knurled knobs. You could probably find something that would look close to it if not just like it. Look at photos and judge condition for yourself.

TERMS OF SALE - PLEASE READ ALL CAREFULLY- It is all important and will save problems later.

No Reserve

Method of Payment: Paypal

Shipping (for continental U.S):$11.25 - Buyer pays all shipping costs, plus insurance if applicable.

Insurance: Insurance fee may be added if buyer requests it and is recommended on expensive or fragile items but insurance will be left to buyers wishes. Insurance cost will be based on final cost of item. You can look up the insurance cost rates on items shipped within the US on the USPS web site. Buyer assumes full responsibility for any loss or damage on unisured items. NOTICE TO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS: Every international shipment must go by air mail and over 4 lbs will have to go Global priority. That will greatly impact heavier items that don't have a high value. You will end up paying many times more for the shipping than the item in some cases. Please be aware of this possibility and make sure you have all shipping questions answered well before the end of the auction or you might be in for a considerable shock. I am aware that the high shipping rates may keep international buyers from bidding on some items, but don't want you to be unaware of the situation. Thank you.

International Bidders terms and shipping: We do ship internationally but the cost can be considerably more and will be figured at conclusion of sale based on destination, weight, and method of shipping. It has also become necessary for me to include the following instructions to all overseas buyers. I cannot do anything about the customs regulations of your country, but when I fill out the customs sheet for shipping the items will be marked 'other' and the actual final bid price of the auction will be what is declared as the value. PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN THAT as I will not be able to comply.

ATTENTION: PLEASE READ. Some last important instructions. -- Please do not request that we stop an auction or remove an item from an auction once it has started. The only reason I will ever stop an auction early is if I feel it is necessary for reasons such as if I made a serious mistake in the listing, or during the course of auction lost or damaged the item, etc. I do not stop auctions early at bidders request for the purpose of selling the item before the end of auction. It is against Ebay policy, plus not fair to other potential bidders, and I will not consider request to sell an item early for any reason. I also will not switch to a Buy it Now option on an item if it is not listed with that as an option, so please do not ask me if I would consider doing so. I am very happy to email for purpose of answering questions about the item for sale and giving more details if necessary, but I will very likely NOT reply to any email requests to do any of the above mentioned requests. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Thank you for reading and agreeing to all the terms of Ebay auctions and free to email if you still have any questions about the item or terms and conditions. Thank you for looking at this item and we look forward to being of service to you.
