Pair of Mid-Century Modern
Manufacturer: Cooper Woodworking Company, Berkeley,
Measurements: Width 28 ¼”, Depth 15” deep, Height 28 ¾”
This is a great set of
nightstands, in addition to the measurements shown above, the upper opening is 9” high and 26 ¾” wide. The lower opening is 26 ¾” wide by 13” high. The lower opening has 2 sliding doors. The legs are 5 ¾” high. Each piece is stamped on the back with the
Cooper Woodworking Co. Stamp, Berkeley,
California. These pieces were manufactured in the
historic Cooper Woodworking
Building in Berkeley, at 1250 Addison Street. These pieces are manufactured with ¾” wide
plywood and show very minor signs of wear consistent with vintage pieces. There are two places where there is a bit
more wear – shown in the last two photographs. Unable to find a date on these
pieces, I think they are either 1950’s, 1960’s or 1970’s. These would be a
fantastic addition to any mid-century, danish modern, retro or mod décor. With their clean lines and functionality,
these could be used as end-tables or nightstands.
