'Jake Gallows is a cop in a world where crime is just a matter of business. Police protection is paid for (and is cut off if you don’t pay) just like your electricity bill. Criminals, when they are caught, can charge the fine for murder to their major credit card and walk away. Just business.

But it became more than business for Jake when a madman, named Kron Stone, and his followers gunned down Jake’s family right in front of him. Kron was captured, but because he was the son of Tyler Stone, of the Alchemax Corporation, he was fined lightly and let free.

When Jake recovered from the wounds he had received in the attack, he decided that business as usual wasn’t good enough any more. Borrowing a page from the Punisher of a century ago, he began a whole new career…as the Punisher of 2099.' - ComicBase Atlas Archive Edition
