Which Generator Do I Need?

The ProKit10 is your best choice for any vehicle, large or small.  It works comfortably on engines 1-7 liters in size. At approximately the 7.0 litre engine size, you may consider 2 generators, depending on your application and budget. 

We have other generators for those with smaller engines or those who are even more budget conscious.  Our SuperKit9 is a great generator for those with a little tighter budget, for use on vehicles up to 3.0 litres maximum engine size.

 

Will it Work On My Car?

Yes, it will.  Your two objectives are:

1. Install with NO air leaks
2. Select a generator with an adequate HHO flow rate, typically 0.25 to 0.5 per minute PER litre of engine size you are supplementing. This is not exact science, so if you are generating a little more HHO, it’s fine!  You engine will willingly accept it.

The ProKit10 is an excellent choice for any vehicle in terms of performance (flow rate), exceptional value and the industry’s coolest operating temperature.  It is very versatile and can be installed on almost any vehicle if you want to move it later.  Its output can be turned up or down as needed by using PWM or varying the amount of chemicals.

Does It Work On Diesels?

Yes, and in many cases even better!  This is because diesel vehicles are less sensitive to any added oxygen in the air stream, due to less electrical sensors or decreased computer ‘intervention’.

Why Trick the Computer?

Adding HHO to your engine lets it run leaner (less gas) while still maintaining the same performance.  Many modern vehicles are programmed to monitor exhaust gases. So, your more efficient, leaner burning engine is detected by the computer, which then ADDS MORE GASOLINE. Exactly what you do NOT want! This computer action can take you right back to the same efficiency (MPG) gains you started with. 

 

EFIE alters the O2 sensor signal so the computer does not interfere with the operation of HHO.

 

What is a PWM Circuit?

A pulse circuit rapidly turns your generator on/off (30000 times per second).  You get to set the percentage of on time, thereby allowing you to fine tune the HHO flow rate.  Equally important, is your increased ability to control heat.  Hydrogen generators (aka electrolysis) produce substantial heat, which if not controlled or dissipated can build up and boil your water.

 

If you require substantial HHO output, you will probably end up with a PWM.  Make sure it can handle your intended current and that it was PROPERLY RATED: many are over specified and will either not work or burn out in a short time.

 

Do I Need a PWM? (BUY IT FROM OUR STORE)

PWMs let you to use highly efficient electrolytes such as KOH/NaOH by allowing you to control the current inside the generator. Thus, the generator can have higher output and less heat build up. Use these if are looking for high performance from your generator or fine tuning of the output.

We recommend using PWM if any of the following apply to you:

1. Using KOH/NaOH instead of baking soda.
2. You are someone who does not want to experiment to get the flow rate optimized and would prefer a little convenience.
3. You live in a warm climate and/or require the generator to be working at higher flow rates, ie. near their capacity. 

Why Constant Current Pulse Width Modulation (CCPWM)?

Unlike Regular PWM, CCPWM does NOT allow the HHO generator to keep increasing its flow rate (HHO output) as it warms up and/or on hot days.  Other systems let the HHO keep getting hotter and drawing more current, an issue called “Thermal Runaway”; a condition that eventually leads to boiling the water in your HHO generator.  The Green Source CCPWM prevents this problem and is especially important if installing on a more demanding V6/V8 engine.

 

Is It Difficult To Use?

The most common problem users experience is overheating and potentially boiling the water. Unlike all the others, Green Source hydrogen generators are engineered to avoid this condition, even without the extra cost of a pulse modulator circuit (PWM). Every single component of our system is made from long lasting materials of the highest quality providing maximum safety and minimal maintenance.

Yes, we do.  You will receive a downloadable link upon purchase for latest version of the manual.  This cuts down on environmental, administrative and paper costs. We’ve sold almost 9000 generators so far, so our manual is comprehensive and mature with lots of explanation.  We also support your questions after the sale.  Our instructions provide basic, easy to understand directions as well as more detailed and technical information for those interested.  This is done in our classic short answer vs. long answer formatting, giving you the choice of detail you require.

 

Winter Operation

This is covered in our operation manual in detail.  In summary, there are two ways to avoid freezing in the winter time:

 

When using baking soda: by adding isopropyl alcohol you can achieve as low as a -30C (-25F) freezing point.

When using KOH/NaOH as electrolyte, the freezing point will be between -12 to -30C and beyond, depending on the mixture.  Our manual describes what freezing point will be achieved.

 

Does this Generator Require a Bubbler?

No. It is flooded cell technology and does not need a bubbler like dry cells do.  A flashback included in the kit protects the generator in the unlikely event of a backfire.

 

Electrode Pack Wiring

The middle plates APPEAR not to be connected.  We know that.  We designed it that way.  It is a standard “Center Neutral” configuration, well tested and proven by both us and the rest of the world.  Actually they DO conduct, once the water and conductive chemicals are inside the generator and in between the plates.  If you insist to rewire them, go ahead and experiment, just you’ll see why this was the best electrode configuration in the first place.
