| | | | | | • | | Payments: All payments should be received within 7 days of purchase. All amounts are in US funds. | | | • | | Shipping Charges : Shipping charges are shown within each listing, and may vary by weight, size, and destination. Many of our fixed price store items are free shipping in the USA. Please bear in mind that our shipping charges include more than just the price of postage. The charges include actual postage costs, packaging materials and handling, and fees from ebay and/or paypal. If you bid, you are deemed to have accepted the shipping charges quoted. International buyers: Import duties and taxes are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility, and are normally collected by your local Customs Offices, when you receive the item: do not confuse them for additional shipping charges. Please check with your country's Customs Office to determine what these additional costs might be prior to buying.
| | • | | Combined shipping : For Americans, additional items are only 50 cents additional shipping, unless they are marked as FREE SHIPPING, in which case there is no charge for shipping. For all other countries, each additional item is usually $3.00 less than the basic shipping charge. On heavier hardcovers, there is no discount, sorry, as the charges reflect my actual calculated cost of shipping. | | | • | | Shipping Times : We usually handle orders the same day we receive payment, packaging them and adding postage and tracking information, but we do not ship every day: we ship at least once a week, sometimes twice, depending on how much we have to ship.
Why not mail every day? I live in Canada, in Winnipeg, and it is a 150 mile round-trip to Neche, North Dakota, to mail parcels. which uses a lot of fuel, and a half day of my time. While this might delay your parcel slightly compared to domestic American dealers, this allows me to pass on the savings in postage from USPS. It would cost a lot more to ship your parcels from Canada, and it would also take a lot longer.
For our OVERSEAS customers, we keep our shipping costs as low as we can [although substantial recent postal increases from the Post Office for shipping overseas are making it difficult to keep them as reasonable as we would like], by using a service called International Priority Air. Parcels shipped like this are shipped to a broker, which takes a few days, in addition to the delay because I live in Canada, then travel by Airmail the rest of the way. All of these factors can add a couple of weeks to delivery time, but I can pass the savings on to you, the customer. Overseas parcels could arrive in as little as 2 weeks, but 3 weeks is normal using this service, and some countries might take 4 weeks or more. If you want your item sent faster [by Global Priority Mail], there is a second option for shipping available, as shipment using these services will be faster, but more expensive. The more expensive option is shipped direct from North Dakota, eliminating the broker.
For CANADIANS, choosing the higher cost shipping method will see your books shipped within Canada; otherwise, they will most likely be shipped from the USA. It is cheaper to ship books back to Canada from the USA, than it is to ship them in Canada, unless they are very thin, or there are a large number of books in the order,! If you strongly prefer Canadian shipping on just a few books, enquire about postage rates before you make payment, as it varies my destination. | | | • | | Returns: Returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt of the item.
We try to describe our items carefully and completely. Occasionally we do make mistakes, or books may have deteriorated due to handling, shelfwear, etc., since we graded them, so please contact us if you're unhappy with your purchase. Perhaps we can make an adjustment to eliminate the need to return the item.
Sometimes you realize you don't want a book once you receive it, or find you already have it under another title. We accept such discretionary returns within reason, at your own expense, but books ordered under our free shipping policy are usually subject to a restocking fee to recover our costs of packing and shippng the order in the first place. The restocking fee in the US is 3.49 for the first item, 50 cents each additional item. There is no restocking fee if the reason for the return is an error on our part. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | bookitinc is the operating name for BookIT Enterprises, owned and operated by J.
