Original *Paul Wescott* Maine Coast O/C Impressionist Oil Painting

…… Measuring 18” by 28” this original Oil Painting is by Paul Wescott. This is one of his typical Landscape Oil Painting depicting the Maine Coastline. On the back is an original label from the Newman Galleries and with the title “Long Island Point.” Long Island is a town off the coast of Maine.  In the last photographs you can see this painting under a black-light. There are a couple of very small spots that were in-painted in the sky. Also this painting was professionally relined. There are no other problems or repairs. The 25” by 35” Painted Frame is original including the inner linen and gilt fillet.  A short search on the internet or any art search engine will show you what original Paul Wescott Oil Paintings have sold for in the past.  There is No Reserve on this original Paul Wescott Maine Coastline Oil Painting and I guarantee 100% that the high bidder will be more than satisfied with its quality, condition and authenticity or I will return all their money.

…… Here is a brief biography on this reknown American Regional Artist. Paul Wescott’s (1904-1970) early landscapes were drawn from the rural environs of Chester Springs, where the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts held its summer school. He also divided his time between his home in Maine, on Friendship Long Island, and West Chester, Pennsylvania. His paintings regularly were exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the National Academy of Design, and the Farnsworth Art Museum where he was awarded many prizes. Paul Wescott’s paintings are held in a number of important permanent collections including the William A. Farnsworth Library and Art Museum, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Butler Institute of American Art, the University of Delaware, and the Delaware Art Museum.
